The weird thing is that most of the answers cover just over half a billion people even when combined and the "somewhere else" is thirteen or fourteen times that size. Britain is 1%. America is 4%. The rest is 95%. It's a big old world out there!

I thought "Britain" referred to only to England, Scotland and Wales. Would the United Kingdom be the more fitting term when referring to the entire country that includes Northern Ireland?

Aye, you're right. I got fed up of explaining it, though, so I just went along with what the OP said. I seem to do that a lot recently. You'd be amazed how many think that if you're from the UK, you're English. Also, if you say you're English, people think you're from London. I'm all out of witty answers for this kind of stuff. It wears you down!

Sometimes I'd like to swap places with my cousins. They're not English, Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish, but are very definitely from the UK. It confuses the hell out of people. :D

It does get to me how some people refer to the entire United Kingdom as "England". I honestly would not want an angry Scotsman in a knit chasing me down the street.

I was just wondering where everyone is from. I'm an American and I've never been out of the country but I would love to travel someday. The places I listed were places I would like to travel. Not exactly places where I thought most of the world lived. I was just curious. (: Great replies though.

I think it's amazing that so many people all over the world know English. Over here very rarely are we taught any language other than Spanish, and when we are taught Spanish we aren't even taught well enough to be able to go to another country and speak the language.

How many languages do you guys know?

Wouldn't life be so much more interesting if some people lived on Mars and others lived on Earth? xD

      • Avant-Garde

I think it would especially, if people could live on super earths. If the planet was already inhabited, humans could live with them and learn about their history and customs. There would be new forms of vegetation, exciting creatures, technology, languages, etc. But with most good things there are usually bad things that accompany them. Humans have the tendency to be destructive and may try to "conquer" these planets for personal gain. Wars might be started and invasions where various beings become POW (Prisoner(s) of War). A truce would be needed to resolve it. If there is no war and humans got to have their way, then those planets they use could be ruined like Earth.

I'm in the middle of writing a book about people living on Europa. One of Jupiter's moons. I would love to hear any more ideas you might have about vegetation and creatures. You should think about writing a book! You have great ideas. (:

  • I'm not sure how to answer this. I'm from Southwest. I lived in the Midwest/East North Central for five years and currently live in the Southeast. I feel the least connection to the Southeast but I've only been here a year.
