    That depends on the context.

    "I hate my Dad"
I wish my Dad would have to pay restitution for his actions i.e. I wish poorly upon him and find it an injustice that he leads a good, happy life.

"I hate people who tail gate me on an open road"
I generally don't hate those people, however, it pisses me off when there are four clear lanes yet they insist on riding my ass. So I slow da fuq down AND WITNESS IN JOY THE ANGRY LOOK ON THEIR FACES IN MY REAR VIEW AS THEY GO INTO THE NEXT LANE. MUAHAHAHAHA.

(...in that context, it means that I hate what they are doing, not them.)

"I hate child molesters/rapists/serial killers/abusive politicians, world leaders etc./the CEOs that caused the recession through a combination of greed, unethical business practices and outsourcing and now live good, fat happy lives whilst flying down to their private islands in their golden parachutes whilst their loyal, hard-working employees that gave years of their lives to those companies are now being forced to live on government entitlements while dip-shit Republicans preach to the world that those that live off entitlements are lazy assholes that expect everything to be handed to them are likely the same people that allowed said practices of CEO's to continue..."

Means that I wish they would be eliminated from our society. Vacate all of the good decent people from Australia and let's turn it into a prison colony again, isolate it from the rest of the world and allow only scientists who specialize in testing products on animals into said colony to ensure the safety of the products we use by way of testing them on said occupants of the country I now call "Douchebagtopia".

And we all lived happily ever after because no one wanted to go to Douchebagtopia. Amen.

I don't really mean that. It was a joke. READER, DON'T HIT THE REPLY BUTTON, A JOKE. Scratch the DBtopia bit. I just wish they would leave society and leave decent people alone. That is what my hatred for them means... chillax.

I don't use the word hate. I prefer to say dislike. I think hate and dislike have two different meanings. When you dislike someone, you simply don't find favor in them, but hate is more of a cursing kind of thing, through my eyes.

I dislike using this word. It only breeds more.
I do, however use it occasionally when something is distasteful. Don't be a "thing".

For me to "hate" someone means I'd rather have them dead than alive.

If I'm talking about a thing or action, I mean dislike. If I'm talking about a person, I mean I want that person dead or seriously injured.

  • shade_ilmaendu

Depends. If I'm not being very serious about it then it's just something I dislike. If I tell a friend I hate them, I'm just dicking around to show them I care. ;P

But if I truly hate someone... it probably means they wouldn't want to get too close to me. It probably means it's one of the bastards who hurt me, or someone I care about, and that's not a safe place to stand.

It all depends on the context I'm using it in. When I say "I hate asparagus" I'm saying that I strongly dislike the flavor/taste and don't wish to eat it. When I say " I hate poachers", I'm saying that I wish they all died a horrible death and I would probably stomp the balls off of one given the chance.

I usually mean "strongly dislike". Sometimes I mean "want to destroy whatever I hate", however.

I hate people who don't like the word "hate" because they say it's a "strong word". So is the word "love", but those dipshits don't have a problem with THAT word. Typical optimists. Now THOSE people, I hate in the sense that "I wish they would be destroyed".

If I use the word hate, it usually means I'm angry. However I don't use it directed towards another person. I hate it when people do that.

It depends. I mean I don't like it or I really hate it and want to destroy the shit out of it. Or something in between. Or worse...
