When you eat meat, do you ever wonder where it came from?

How it spent its life.
What part of the world it came from.
How it was handled by the butcher.

Those types of things... Do you ever wonder about them?

I never eat meat, so NO, I don't think about those things. 28
I do everytime I eat it. 13
Occasionally. 30
Rarely do I consider where it came from, but I have once or twice. 12
Only when I am purchasing it. 4
Only when I'm killing it. 6
I only think about it when it comes to seafood. 4
No. Why should I? 18
No, I'm superior to every living thing, so I don't need to wonder. 7

I used to think about it all the time. It's why I don't eat meat any more. I'd look at a bacon cheeseburger and think, there's bits of at least three animals in there. I still eat cheese but at least nothing died for it.

I do everytime I eat it.

I fully acknowledge where my meat comes from. I don't see why this should stop me from eating it.

All food was once living. No matter what you eat you are taking life in order to continue your own. Plants too are living - in fact fresh produce is usually STILL ALIVE in your fridge or cupboard. If you don't believe me, let a potato sit for a while and see if it grows. That's alive.

The main difference is... we just can't hear them scream when we kill them. It doesn't mean they aren't reacting... it just means we can't hear it.

I have only thought about it when I have to kill and then clean the wild game I have sometimes eaten on occasion. I must say I am glad that I can buy meat at the store because it is gruesome business.

You can get protein from beans and other legumes, but meat is the best. By the way, do you vegetarians still eat chicken and fish?

  • I do sometimes. Not enough to become a hardcore vegetarian, though. I need the extra protein in meat (shows muscles).

I did every time I ate it. So I became vegetarian because I don't have to worry about where my lettuce and quorn comes from .

  • slaughterd inmates who are charged the death sentence. Their succulent meat was a success!

  • It crosses my mind every time I choose to eat meat. As an adult, I usually eat more fish now, than anything else. Ultimately, I would like to adopt a completely meatless diet for health reasons.

I won't eat meat unless I know where it came from, and aprove. So many people believe me to be veggie. It makes life easier.

  • I ddont think about it but I know were it comes from anyone who doesnt know is idiotic. It gets irritating when animal rights extremeist constantly support the rights of animals and yet ignore humans rights.

  • I think about it when I buy it, when I cook it, and when I eat it. I grew up on a small farm; we raised and slaughtered our own livestock. I prefer eating animals that were treated humanely while they were alive.
