Well, I'll give you my perception of Heaven and Hell and then I'll tell you why reincarnation seems like a good alternative.
Heaven is described as a paradise, standing on a cloud for eternity. That doesn't really sound much like paradise to me. And even if there was a Heaven, that doesn't mean it'll be a place of eternal happiness. I need misery in my life to appreciate the moments that make me smile. So if Heaven is suppose to be this magical place of serenity but I really can't imagine a place like that existing without some necessary evil.
As for Hell, well that's a bit different in a sort of exciting way. Let's say I get tortured for eternity, wouldn't you agree that eventually I'd get use to the pain and hell even get aroused by it. Will Satan just keep moving me around from torture to torture till he runs out of ways to make me feel pain? I don't want to go Hell but the more I think about it, the less real it becomes.
The idea of continuing the human race seems much better to me. I get to deal with the troubles that come with being human, but I also get to deal with the happiness. Places that represent extremes don't interest me. Either I suffer or somehow become happy, you can't have one without the other. So I'll stick to being human, but I would like to visit the other realms that the afterlife has to offer before I respawn back on earth.
Incorrect.
The concepts of 'reincarnation, creation, resurrection, afterlife & similar', are all interrelated, and have a basis in truth.
Personally, I prefer to refer to it as an 'after-death' experience.
Generally, a creature which is Sentient and Ethical, might have their Sentience preserved, depending upon their Ethical behaviour and their level of Enlightenment, with all environmental aspects taken into consideration.
A creature's Sentience, can be preserved at any point in time, throughout the creature's lifespan. The creature will not have memories of future events, should a younger stage of development be the preferable option (this is not necessarily the creature's own choice).
The creature (should their Sentience be preserved), will be re-created in a near form of their original existence, and the creature will be provided with a suitable habitat. [This means that you are stuck with the body you have (or.had), for the most part. There are some alterations which are Ethically possible, but one should not count on this. Look after your body and mind.] [A suitable habitat, for a human, is usually or normally where you call 'home' (on Planet Earth!). If you are a transient, you will continue to be transient, in your respective locale].
This is quite easily understood. [Begin] By the time you finish reading this sentence, you will have been re-created several times. [End]
Did you notice anything different?
How it works, is that the higher-ups have a technology, which is somewhat like a 'scanner', which is more like a scanner / transporter, that works in the Quark Realm. It records (somewhat like our computer's memory) the position and type of each and every subatomic particle in the Universe, in actual time. It then replicates the entire Universe (and the replication / scanner / transporter / memory unit itself) in null space.
It does, however, take them quite some time, to 'gather' (that's how they prefer to describe it) enough quarkenergy to do this (approximately 2.5 Billion Years). Consequently, the Universe in which you were just created from, was a very, very long time ago, and the next Universe, is a long, long time in the future.
It is like Schrödinger's cat. You can be dead in one Universe, and 'alive' (used loosely, restrictions might apply) in another.
What they (the VHATC-L2, they act as managers for the Local Group) do, is re-create a Universe in which your existence is 'unexisted' and your current Sentience is placed in it's stead. Then, sometimes, timeline events are altered slightly.
