When you commit a crime in england, who is it against?

In official criminal court proceedings in the UK, who is your crime against?

For instance, if I got arrested for drunk driving, my court case would be 'The People of the State of New Jersey vs Me' as DUI is a state law, so I have offended the people of NJ with my offense. If I commit a federal crime, then it's against my government.

Please forgive my options if they suck! Comments appreciated!

The Queen. 18
All the people of England. 7
The people of (county, city, country) depending on offense 14
Other (please comment) 9
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I'm from a Commonwealth country (New Zealand) it would depend on what type of law that was violated and who implemented the law.

If it was a local law, like something small like a parking offence it would for example. "The City of Christchurch" vs Me. (Much like your State of New Jersey vs You) If the law was implemented by the central government it would be "The Crown" vs Me. The "Crown" is a legal term to represent the Queen and the Central Government of New Zealand.

I would suspect it would be the same with the UK however due to their multiple level of government they would have local(City Councils/Authorities), home nations eg. Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland and on top the Crown of the Westminster Government.

It is the Queen. For example, if I got into trouble, my court case will be Rv*my name*. The "R" represents the state, the Queen. That is for crime cases.
For civil cases it would be my name v the person who I am up against name. There are also many other titles, but Rv*name* is the most common.
    I'm a law degree student.

Wow I was thumbed down? I'm probably the only english person that's commented on this post with four years of studying law behind her. Just saying.

Why I thought it was odd since no one else commenting was actually English.
