Are you asking if I choose to have sex with just myself? If so, then yes and no. My life is complicated right now and finding a partner is out of the question for at least another year or two. Plus, it's difficult finding someone compatible to the point where I'd want to be intimate with them. But I'm okay with masturbating and I have a collection of toys to keep it interesting.

Almost all of my feelings of attraction come from how I view their personality and it takes some time to figure someone out.
I don't necessarily require a meaningful relationship to feel attraction, but usually getting to know the type of person I'm attracted to leads to a relationship. It's rare that I come across someone who intrigues me, though.
I tried once to have a relationship when I didn't feel that attraction - he was just a nice person who liked me a lot. It wasn't enough. When it came to physical intimacy, I was repulsed and ended it. Lesson learned.
I don't think you should feel ashamed of having a dry spell. My guess is, you're probably not being exposed to enough of the type of people who could be genuine prospects. Or maybe you're not ready. Unless you have zero standards, or you're a socio-path, it's not as easy as we think it supposed to be.
