When the only person you were ever close to doesn't even like you

Is it normal to think that no one else would like you if they knew you, and have no interest in developing relationships anymore?

I have never felt close to anyone, not even my parents or siblings. I didn't even know what I was missing until I met this person. I will never feel that again.

Move on and try to make new relationships with people who will like you and accept you for who you are. Good-luck!

    • Sounds superficial and fake.

From everything you said in your post and comments, it sounds like you have serious cases of dramatic and better-than-everyone disorders. You’re not trying to get people to like you because you clearly don’t care or you would try. Get over yourself or be miserable

    • Why, do you put a lot of effort into getting people to like you?

I put effort into enjoying myself. Sometimes that involves making someone I think is cool like me.

That's not very much to go on. If you could elaborate some and give us more details, we might be able to provide you with better insight.

    • Okay. You feel that you share one conscience with this person and completely trust them because they are you. Then, some outside influence rips this person away from you. It feels like half of your heart has been ripped out of your body.

You still aren't telling us very much. Where's the full story? What happened?

Learn to like yourself so you wont need someone else to do it for you.

    • I've already done that.

        Then what's the problem?

        • Okay, fine. No problem then.

It's normal to feel that way when you are going through such a crisis, but it's not true.

    • It may be true, though. Because I won't put any effort into being liked. Like going to parties or developing interests just so I can socialize.

Surely there must be more to your story if that person was close to you, but now you say this person doesn't even like you.
