When talking to people i usually only look at their right eye, iin??

Sometimes, when I'm talking to someone, I don't know where to look! I know that it's rude to look away all of the time, so I try to make some eye contact, but then I start alternating between their eyes! Right or left?! What the -? AHHH!!!

Then, I'll look away again and try to either keep my focus to one of their eyes or unfocus my vision so that it looks as though I'm looking vaguely in the direction of their eyes. That only happens to me with people who aren't in my immediate family.

If you're more comfortable looking at people's right eyes when you talk to them, then just keep doing it. It's fine :)

I'm doing a Statistics project on this topic right now in class. Your friends "don't" do this because they don't realize yet. A lot of my friends didn't realize it until I told them about it...it took some of them another day or so after I told them.

It bugs me a lot but it's completely normal and people can't even tell you're only focusing on one eye because they're only able to focus on one eye too (whether they know it or not).

I feel totally lame for my answer but I'm looking up resources about it now and that's how I found your question.. :)

I used to be nervous about where to look too! Then I found out some super easy cool tricks. Studies show that when you look into someones right eye and position your body slightly off to their right (when the right eyes meet) they will feel comfortable and like you more. This is only true for right handed people who live in the US. Those lefties are unpredictable! Also go for about 70% eye contact for the total conversation cutting away to glance at their shoulder, (safe places to look) then other shoulder and back to their eye. Their nose is also safe. Looking at their lips shows that you are into them! Be careful! This isn't going to solve all your problems and might actually get you into trouble! But it sure helped me. :)

In my case i shift from glancing in one eye to looking away to the other eye then out of focus but in no perticular order the less i like them more i look away.i know i do this on purpose (out of feeling uncomfortable or dislike) but on the other hand if its an attractive woman i like i will stare deeply straight into their eyes.also if they upset me i cant help but give them an evil look or i refuse to look at them at all.

I do it.Its cause I wear glasses,and I have a weaker eye,so I CAN only look in one eye when I'm talking to someone.

Tooooooottally same! Specially with the unfocusing thing! But yeah I usually just pick a spot n stare!

Um, for me it is a little different. Two months ago, MS made it very difficult for my eyes to focus together so I had to keep one shut while I read or else it would be blurry.
