When someone turns the light on i still see the light after it's off

When i have my eyes closed and they're up to the ceiling, i see light when its turned on but even after its turned off, i still see it as long as i think its on, so i can't sleep until i open my eyes and close them again. This has happened twice so its not regular but you know, it's still weird.

      Yes but normally they're supposed to see dark when it's dark.
