I think big planned "slumber parties" with like six or more kids usually stop around age eleven or twelve for most kids. But spending the night at a friend's house, just two or three of you, is never not OK for young adults. I think when you're in your twenties you'll naturally stop seeing your friends as much as you drift apart in/after college. You'll be starting relationships/careers and moving.

And I agree with the distinction between "sleep over" and "stay over". If your friend has to crash on your couch at your apartment, that's not a "sleep over". Sleep-overs have movies, truth or dare, pillow fights, popcorn, scary stories, gossip, etc.

As you get older you stop calling it a sleepover, you just call it staying over or crashing, though they're still the same thing.

    • Well I'm 19 and a couple people tell me I'm too old to sleepover at my best friend's house so I posted this wondering what everyone else's opinion might be. :)

There's no age where you should stop. If you want to sleep over with your friends, go ahead, it's fine.

Neeeeeeeeever ! Now I wonder if people sleep over at my place because I invite them or because they end up to drunk to go back home...

I call it bunking, although I will share my bed with nobody.

Meh. I was never a big fan of sleepovers. I always preferred my own bed and pillows and blankies. These days my dogs hog my bed so its sort of like a sleepover cus the one in particular sleeps all over me but i don't mind too much. Ok so I like to snuggle with my pups. Is that a crime?!?! Don't be disgusting -_- I'm outta here. Pfff.

I don't really think there's an age limit.
It all depends on what you do at the sleepover, or whatever.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Never :) I enjoy them, and will still probably continue going/hosting sleepovers. The events at the sleep over will probably mature though

Never, but at the same time (for males) it becomes weird after a certain age to sleep in the same bed. At least that's my personal experience anyway.

No clue. Usually when I used to go with friends to a mate's house to get drunk, we all stay for the night (No night busses and taxis are too expensive).

Now, most of my friends have moved closer to the university (cheaper rent) and closer to my place (I live not far from the university), so nobody has to stay for the night. Everyone goes home on foot. Regardless where we are getting drunk XD
