When people sell an item off craigslist....

....why do they post a new ad saying it's sold? Or edit their existing ad to say "sold", instead of just deleting the ad entirely? Does this make you scratch your head or are you one of "those guys"?

Oh, I hate that, why bother? 49
I do it. (can you pls tell us why!!) 3

If your looking for real product without all the hassle I heard that shindler has a pretty long list. Craigs list is a lot sloppier with more junk. But you know, depends on what your looking for.

Maybe they just delete the email on accident?

ive only sold one thing and i had a dispute with some guy who felt i owed him the right to see something before i sold it to someone else, just because he called first.

I told him that if he could get here first and decide to take it then it would be his. i even went so far as to tell him it would be first come first serve and one price no haggling or bidding.

i still got flak from one guy who talked my ear off for 15 minutes and even threatened to sue me over a $50 item.

its worth the effort to edit the title to include "SOLD" i agree you shouldnt have to open the ad to find out but really how much of your life was lost in that effort?

I think also many people dont read the EMAIL that says "DO NOT DELETE THIS EMAIL IT WILL BE NEEDED TO EDIT OR DELETE YOUR POSTING",,, I get pissed off enough sometimes I would LOVE to go kick in their front door to get their attention,,, that if I call or email and ad has been posted for 2 weeks or so, and they say Oh I sold it last week, I will tell them then why dont you delete your Friggen ad then.
