When is it not normal to live with your parents?

I feel that parents should teach their kids how to be independant. It is ok to help your kids, but not to the point where you are paying their bills. My father always done everything for my little sister. He is gone now, and she cannot take care of herself. She does not know how to pay bills, budget her money, or shop for the appropriate food for her son. She has more of a monthly income than I do, and is caring for one kid. I have four kids and she is still borrowing money from me every month. I wish that my dad would of made her do more for herself. I hope that I do not make this mistake with any of my children. You would just be hurting your kids chances for success in the long run if you do everything for them.

With this economy, you have to do what you can. Not everyone can afford the ridiculously high rents nowadays

I am aged 58 and my husband is 60 and we are both retired and are living with my folks. Because our entirer retirement plans went up in fucken smokes when I became wheel chair bound due an automobile accident two years after retirement. Amd my husbands pension was cut by a third. So no where else to go for temporary. And no Social Status Benefits until out mid sixties.

My oncles little brother has trisomy 21 and he'll probably live with his mother for the rest of his live and I don't consider this to be ridiculous at all.

I'm going with 25+

By 25 you should have finished college or gotten your job. If you're still sucking off of mommy and daddy's support after that, there's something wrong.

Some exceptions:
- if you're deployed military and their residence is still your legal address. That's fine and legal.

- And if it's your house and Mom &/or Dad live with you. That's fine too.

If the person is disabled in some way, that is different. Or maybe (tho it isnt my thing) if they just prefer to live at home. Personally, I like to live my own life and have my freedom but whatever works for them. I DONT think its normal for these "scrub" like people 2 just take advantage of their parents, live there and/or constantly take money from them and they should be ashamed! I know someone that did that and his mom just let him get away w/it!

I think its sick for either the parent or the kid to want to keep being together like that after theyre grown.its almost like theyre in a relationship of sorts and cant be away from each other and think that no one else better theyd rather be with or anything else theyd rather be doing.i mean for god sakes wth would anyone want to get out on their own and live life without the help of mommy and daddy?coming out of her snatch and spending 2 decades with her isnt enough for you?i just cant fathum it.

My son can live with me forever - as long as he doesn't marry some bitch to freeload as well. However, I have a few rules in my house a) When I'm up in the morning, everybody up!
b) No TV before 6pm!
c) No reading rubbish, find some chores to do!
d) Always answer me with "OK Mum".

Simple rules for a happy home, obey and he can stay ;o)

Absolutely ridiculous if you're in your 30s and up, have no history of medical and/or psychological conditions, perfectly normal, and STILL living with your parents. (It's alright if you have a job and live with them, but being a lazy freeloader is NOT ACCEPTABLE.)

I would say 25 and up, but if you can't get a job, you will do whatever you have to, to get by.
