When is it normal to date sb you seem to like?

As I posted in another thread I don't believe I've ever actually felt love for someone before, even though I'm 18. However, recently there are some girls who have caught my attention. I like them, they are nice, fun, not ugly and we have some things in common. My friends have all had different relationships, but I can't tell to what extent real 'love' was involved in this. What I think I can tell is that, were I to ask the girl out etc, and she would say no (which she probably wouldnt), I would be able to live with that. Is that any indicator? What do people mean when they say 'I love you'? Do people need to love each other to be girlfriend/boyfriend, or is it normal to be in that relationship with just liking each other and treating each other right?

Besides, what's the whole difference between 'dating', 'going out', 'being girlfriend/bf', etc?

"I've ever actually felt love for someone before, even though I'm 18."

Why the rush? Does love have an expiration date?

About the "relationship with just liking each other and treating each other right," who knows, I think "lasting love" would be a product of development.

i think 'dating', 'going out', 'being girlfriend/bf' are different in different countries.

i'm in england and jst finish high school and i'v not known ANYONE in the whole 5 years i was there who went on or was asked to a date. its not very popular with adults either!

i wouldnt think about it too much if i were you or u'll jst get more confused lol

  • There are many types of love, and moving in with someone right off the bat is not love. I don't know much about dating, but going out or hanging out comes first usually, and then people say oh we are dating, and then they use the terms boyfriend/girlfriend if things start to get serious. Love is a confusing thing, I have been in love, or atleast I think I have, but for just as easily as it is to fall in love I can fall right out of it. I think true love is when you find a person that you will never stop loving, no matter what.
