When is enough, enough?

I suppose you've read about this group of African Islamic militants that kidnap and murder school children, not to mention the many many thousands of adults they have slaughtered, Boko Haram?
Perhaps it is time to bring back napalm and burn these assholes to a crisp, wherever they stand?
I understand the moral dilemma involved, but really, when is enough wholesale slaughter of human beings, enough?
How long should the world turn a blind eye to these atrocities?
Honestly; what are your feelings about finally getting tough on these sorts of militants, by any means possible?

No, it's immoral, let them keep killing 0
Yes, it is time to eradicate them by any means 8

We've all seen the US fail at eradicating islamist groups in the middle east. It doesn't really work that way. You kill off one group, another one arises. Fighting violence with violence has been proven futile time and time again. It will give them further reasons to say that we are the evil ones.
It's the culture that needs to be abolished, not the perpetrators. Because as long as there's a culture, an ideology that promotes violence through religion, we can't get rid of the virus. They need to be educated, not killed.

Hahahaha yeah, I'd like to see the American public support another war and then, after we have deadlocked ourselves in it, call us all murderers. Right.

We need to pull the fuck out of these countries and stay the fuck out. Let them kill each other. Let them all kill each other. We don't need to lose any more good servicemen and women for countries that are going to just kick us the fuck out anyway and a public who acts like we are all warmongerers. We have too many problems here at home that need to be taken care of rather than be sent to other countries to try to solve theirs...

In a situation where some of his crew would have been killed, the prime directive would have been beamed in to space. In the episode "drumhead" it is noted that Picard violated the prime directive 9 times.

He would have at least been conflicted. You're just like "fuck'em." Not nice :(

It's not about kindness, Picard wouldn't have placed his crew on a lesser developed world to fight a battle we are not involved with to begin with. He would and has left lesser developed worlds to their own demise.

You never know what's enough until you discover what's more than enough.

Boko Haram or how ever you spell it means western teachings not allowed.

I think we she starve them. but eh they are a necessary evil in this world. Remember human progress isn't linear. Look at rome the city it had advance technology lost because of war and famine. etc.

    • What the fuck is necessary about radical militant islamists? Please enlighten us?
Cutting off heads on videos, burning people alive? Slaughtering thousands who did nothing more than be there?
I know what Boko Haram means, but hey thanks for thinking I'm that stupid. I really appreciate it.
And please tell us what the City of Rome has to do with this thread?

humanity progress to the future isn't linear. The roman people had technology lost in centuries til like 19th century because of its destruction. We gotta realize progress isn't linear and that retrograde will always happen

I have been quite uncertain about my emotions regarding ISIS and the Pancasila Youth, and the like. I like to believe that the death penalty is an ineffective deterrent and punishment. Despite this, I have difficulty seeing a more suitable punishment for those that murder satirists, journalists, children, and innocent people in general. If there is someone in here that can persuade me one way or the other, that would helpful.
