When i smoke weed i feel normal, and when i'm normal it's "different"

I smoke weed on the daily and i've smoked for 4 years. and for the last 5-6 months I've smoked every single night. A ten sack or more. Is it normal that when im high i feel "sort of" normal. And when im normal I have weird things going on, I will stare at nothing for up to 5 minutes at a time and not realize it. Then boom, i snap back into reality and sometimes i tap my face just to keep me concentrated with what i'm doing so i don't have one of the "time freezes." The only time i don't feel this weird "high" is when i'm socializing. But if i look away stuff just doesn't feel the same. And my eyes no longer adjust correctly in light and in the dark, my vision is like it used to be when i would get high. And when im high i feel as if my vision is normal. And trust me, this isn't a good "high" feeling 24/7. I wake up with a grudge for life and can never get motivated. Is that normal for anyone? Does this happen with too much smoking?

Yes that's common with too much use. 281
No that's not normal for anyone, ever! 92

I had a similar not so similar experience. I smoked weed for a few years and would feel much more normal and capable while high than I did while sober. I think it is easier to cope with a lot of things while high, and it is much easier to figure out how to be happy with life when your high.

After abandoning all drugs, including caffeine, after a while your brain chemistry will start to balance out again. Give it at least 6 months. You will then again realize what is like to feel normal, along with figuring out some of the deeper psychological symptoms that bother us all.

After that, using drugs responsibly and not consistently will be something you can enjoy but won't necessarily depend on.

You may want to link into depersonlization and derealization, which are two things I developed after smoking weed constantly for month. These symptoms of anxiety, can be provoked by marijuana.

Derealization alters your visuals, makes everything seem "off" somehow, unfamiliar.

And depersonalization makes you feel somehow disconnected from your body and the rest of the world, often described as if you're in a movie.

    Good luck!

This. I think the thing is if you're not high you're coming down too, and so that might be why you can't concentrate very well. That, or mentally you are too used to focusing while high, or may think it enhances focus, when in the end it does not entirely.

With weed, the day after you smoke, you get a sort of "weed hangover" and if you smoke every night, than every time day you'll feel this way.

I used to smoke it. Now when I see my friends who still smoke it, i realise how boring it makes them and i'm glad i'm not that dull anymore.

I've smoked every night consistently for about 10 yrs now (minus a few days here and there). I get very anxious and am very critical of everything when I do not smoke; not to mention problems sleeping. Good friends say I'll be one of those poeple who smoke till they die... lol

You are aware that every time you do drugs (pot, cocane, meth, etc) you are killing brain cells that will never come back? That is where the "high" feeling comes from. I think you should get help for your addiction. Please consider it!

Actually, weed does not kill brain cells. It can, though, support brain stem growth and get rid of seizures, something that happens in the brain.
