When i feel my little brother is mistreating me, i punch him.. iin?

I have a brother, who is 15. I am 18 (male). We haven't had a father since we were little, and he used to respect me as a father figure, sort of. But he's getting older, and it's not so much mistreating me but saying disrespectful things that he never has before, and he says things to me that he shouldn't be saying.. But when he does, and I've had enough of it, I'll give him a good punch in the arm or something. It's nothing like assault, just a punch that lets him know who his elder is.. My older brothers did it to me. I never hit him hard enough to bruise, and never in the face or anything. IIN?

    If your solution is always violence, even mild stuff like this, then that could be a problem.
    It kind of sounds like he is purposefully annoying you to get a reaction. Perhaps that's the only way he can get attention from you? Do you hang out less than you did when you were younger?

    I agree with Ono, hitting someone (even if it's your brother) just teaches that person (your brother) to do the same thing to someone else.

    To be fair, all brothers have a little violence in their history. You are still young but trust me you will both grow out of it at one point. My younger brother and I are EXACTLY like that and despite the numerous tussles we've had he still treats me like shit most times but it doesn't matter. In my opinion as long as you don't hit him hard or anywhere sensitive its completely normal. And for those of you who think its wrong to hit your younger brother for being an asshole then its you who is not normal.

    Of course it is! Next time, if he says something particularly hurtful, just beat the living crap out of him and he will respect you again! it's simple!
