When i drink, i speak in a very convincing russian accent

When I drink too much, I speak with a Russian accent that is apparently quite authentic. I cannot seem stop it once it has started.

My family has some Russian heritage, but it is several generations removed and no one in my family speaks with any accent at all.

Any ideas about this? Is it normal?

Thanks. :)

    Back in the day when I drank I used to speak in a convincing southern accent, and make up stories about my identity. Super fun to do and normal

      I have no related heritage or anything but I speak in an Australian accent when I'm under the influence. No idea where it comes from! Your not alone.

    when i get drunk i speak french and i have a tiny bit of french heritage. i dont worry about it and i dont think you should either. when your drunk you should have fun and if speaking in foreign accents and languages is fun to you as it is to me then do it.

    Totally normal. I go anywhere from Romani to Russian, French, Chinese but I have no such heritage. I'm from California! Go drunken linguistics!

    I don't know if it's normal, but it's entertaining and cool.
    When I drink, I can pull of lots of accents.
    I make up stories with each accent. It's always fun times when I start doing this.

    I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but when I drink wine, I get an British accent, and when my best friend gets drunk, he has an Irish accent.

    It's not something we do on purpose, but it just comes out.

    What's strange is, he's not Irish at all, and I'm not British at all. :)

    @Kait_dona_who

    Thanks. I've heard of people having this situation after a stroke, but I have never had one, that I was aware of, anyway.

    Thanks for making me feel not-as-weird! :)

      You're quite welcome. Now we both know that we aren't alone in our drunken foreign language rampages. :)
