When does it become speeding?

At what point do you truly consider it "speeding"?
Is it anything faster than the posted speed limit?
Or is it when you're going fast enough to get caught?

What do you think is the "real" speed limit?

When I get a speeding ticket from the police. 8
When I'm doing 30< miles/hour over the limit. 0
When I'm doing 20< miles/hour over the limit. 5
When I'm doing 10< miles/hour over the limit. 17
When I'm doing 5< miles/hour over the limit. 16
I consider anything faster than the limit speeding. 21

Or when you hit 80 miles an hour and a time hole opens and sends you through time.

If you're going over the limit, I consider you speeding. I didn't know there was debate over that.

No, I do not. I know it's easy to exceed the speed limit accidentally or without realising and I know sometimes to is safer to exceed the limit, and I know that in most places there is a certain tolerance to protect you from being prosecuted if that happens. However, even knowing that I would use the word "speeding" to describe someone who went over the limit regardless of whether they were breaking the law. That is how the word "speeding" is defined: "travelling at a speed greater than the legal limit".

In UK I believe it's in excess of +10% +2 MPH to be able to be prosecuted.

Well here there is this law that "allow" or a more appropriate term "tolerated" is normally +/- 10 km/h (approx. 6 mph) of a posted speed sign.

Above the speed limit is speeding. To those who think speeding is funny, here's a fact for you... if you hit someone in a car travelling at 30mph (or equivalent), then they have WAY more chance of surviving than if you hit them at 35mph. Something crazy like 80% more chance. So yeah. And that person could be a child. Don't know if that changes things for people. Speed limits are there for a reason, it's not just another of those silly rules.
