When do guys actually want to settle down.

I'm a 23 year old girl and I just want to know when the hell do guys actually grow up and want to settle down?

Why does it seem like every 23 year old in my small town is no where close to wanting to grow up.

  • Not settling down is not equivalent to not growing up. A guy can be comfortable with himself enough to find joys in other things and still be grown up. You don't need to have a wife and kids to be "grown up"...Just sayin'.

Just like women, maturity in men may vary. Realistically, there is no definite answer on when a man will mature.

However, you may need to change your definition of maturity, because anyone can lie down and create children whether accidentally or planned, and tons of people marry for the wrong reasons.

In my opinion, if you're going to consider anyone as a future partner, look for someone who is currently working hard to achieve his goals, whether he's working to save up money for school or currently in school getting his degree. You want a man who believes being a man isn't about getting ass on the regular.

For all of us "settling down" is a big step. But for us men it's a lot more. We have the thought in our head, that settling down, means no more guys/bros nights, no more crazy parties, just no more fun. Now I'm not saying it's a solidified fact, but it's whats been programmed into our brains (if you do pay attention to media, it makes marriage look like a boring thing, so they might settle down when there tired of crazy nights and hangovers, which for some it might take a while.) I might add that a mature man will settle down when asked, not when hes ready.

I don't even know if I'm ready for that yet. Or ever.

But when does the thought cross guys minds that "hey...I might want a lady around a lot, and maybe even some babies!"

If he hasn't settled down by age 45, he probably never will. Many IINers over 45 have never settled down.

Sadly in my town it just seems like if they knock someone up they get it together, or run away and never grow up hahah.

Guys live in the moment. They think "we have our entire lives to settle down but that life is limited so we should do all the stupid fun and memorable things before we regret it by settling down. We just wanna enjoy live around this age. Everyone should".

I cringe at the thought settling down at this age. I have my whole life ahead of me so the last thing I want to do is settle down.
