When I was 16 I tried it once, coughed up a lung, promptly stuffed it back in my throat, & decided to never try it again.
I couldn't tell if this was about bud or cigs from the sidebar, but ive only smoked 4 cigs in my life & i casually smoke bud. cigarettes just taste gross.
I STARTED smoking when it was cool and all the movie stars and U.S. troops in the war smoked.
I QUIT cold turkey when the U.S, Surgeon general, Everett Koop, said the research results had discovered a causal link between cigarettes and lung cancer, and announced that he was quitting, himself. Hark, I said to myself, here is a doctor that practices what he preaches.
It's one of the few really wise actions I ever intelligently analyzed and acted decisively on. There's always a show off! Absolutely disgusting, isn't it?
HAD MY FIRST CIGARETTE AT 10.5 AND NOW I AM 56 AND STILL LOVING THEM, PACK PER DAY.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY YOU FUCKEN ASSHOLES THINK IT IS SO FUCKEN CUTE TO DO STREET DRUGS. I GREW UP IN THE 1960'S HIPPIE ERA AND SAW ALOT OF FRIENDS GET BURNED OUT DOING THOSE SAME FUCKEN DRUGS BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT HEED ANYONE'S ADVICE AND ALOT OF THEM HAVE BEEN IN BOOP CAGES FOR LIKE 40 YEARS GIVE OR TAKE WITH THEIR BRAINS TOTALLY FRIED OUT. MOST OF THIS WAS DONE ON LSD.
SO PLEASE HEED MY ADVICE AND GET OFF THAT FUCKEN SHIT IF YOU CAN WHILE YOUR BRAINS ARE FUNCTIONING NOTMALLY.

When I was 13.
I was about 14 when I had my first cigarette. I snuck one from my brother.
Nobody's ever tried to con me into smoking, and I've never actually gotten addicted.
I'm twenty, and I've smoked about 2 packs worth in my life.
I was 11 when i first started.
I was forced to by my older sister to prevent me from squealing on her to our parents!!
As she hung around with even older people and was forced to take me out with her.
Unfortunately i've never stopped.
Look, if you guys know the consequences, why do you even bother trying those?
I fell in love with a woman who smokes, a lot (between one and two packs each day).
After trying periodically to encourage her to quit she basically told me that I don't understand how hard it is to quit because I've never smoked. She eventually said she'd quit if I could prove to her how "easy" it was to do, as I'd tell her, adding "if she really wanted to".
I'm a teacher and, so, just before my summer break she challenged me saying that if I'd smoke as much as she did I'd finally understand, suggesting that I do so over the summer break period and further saying that if I'd want to quit we'd do so together since that'd be easier for her. After some thought I foolishly accepted her challenge.
It took almost 2 months for me to get to her level but she'd encourage it, eventually, by lighting up two cigarettes, one for each of us, most of the time. We had gone traveling and this was the way she got me to smoke when she did. What was interesting was the way I eventually got the impulse to smoke, just before she'd light them up. I realized that smoking was situational and, in certain circumstances smoking became associated with any particular activity or set of cues.
By the time September rolled around I was smoking as much as she was and I reminded her of our agreement. I stopped and she did too but very often she'd say things like let's just have one, at least we're smoking less, etc. Well one led to two and that led to five and when she'd smoke she'd offer me one and I'd take it.
Needless to say, I've learned my lesson and am now in the same boat she is. Now, sometimes I'll light one and she'd give me this "see I told you" look.
At least the smell doesn't bother me anymore. But I really do want to quit and know that we'll be able to quit together eventually but it's been over 2 years now and it's hard to quit when she doesn't even try to anymore. And, worse, I think I smoke more than she does! Talk about irony....
i think i started smoking when i was like 13 and tried to quit a few times but still do
the french smoke and drink all the time. look at them. Our diet in america is shit, thats what!

when i was 14-my ex forced me to do it more than 9 times and if i didn't he would tie me up and force me or do nasty stuff no joke so i dumped him and he kept stalking me-scary shit ;'( n btw it tastes absolutely disgusting.
first tried one at 6, i lived in a refuge and there was a smoking room and a bunch of us would smoke the butts from our parents cigarettes, but i stopped when my dad caught me
