When did you read the series of unfortunate events?

I, for one, was too scared of them when I was a kid, so I'm just reading them now (and I think they are amazing!) (also please, no spoilers...)

  • I loved them and read them all in elementary school.. might explain my dark sense of humor

I started them when I was about 10, and then read all of them by the time I was 13 :P I loved those books because they were definitely "for kids" but not really patronising or dumbed down in terms of vocabulary.

I LOVED THAT SERIES! (in the 4th/5th/6th grade)

I read all of them except thirteen when I was in middle school, so between about 12-14.

I liked it but I soon graduated to reading straight out textbook materials and I have a hard time reading something that isn't at least somewhat challenging =\

I loved it though. If I weren't so busy these days I'd pick up where I left off.

Oh, this is interesting. I never honestly considered reading children books. I read as a child, but it wasn't anything in English.

I did many years ago. I got to about the 7th or 8th book and I ended up quitting on the series. It was a good idea, but as the series wore on, the plot got "stretched" in certain places and things became unrealistic. Then, I got tired of the random "interruptions" that Lemony Snicket would write and I felt like those really helped to destroy the books. I also remember the film being horrible and not true to the books.

I started them in fifth grade- that was when I was mostly obsessed with them.

By the time the last book came out, I wasn't as into them, but I still read it... and it was a huge disappointment.

I think I started them in middle school, one of my biggest book obsessions. I have the eye tattooed on my ankle. :D
