believe it or not, in some states you can get your permit at 14. Some spoiled kids have their parents buy them cars

THere are states that allow you to have an instructional permit at 14 but not a full license at 14.

1980. Chrysler Avenger estate car, in white. Magnificent vehicle. Best feature was cassette player. You could turn it up loud enough to drown out the sound of the engine.

First car I got just after I turned 19. Mom wouldn't let me get a job in high school so when I graduated, I got myself a full time job and saved up paychecks for a few weeks and got myself a 1997 Crown Victoria. Figured I'd wreck my first car but I'd like to live to buy another one.
Sure enough, after pulling two 12 hours shifts and classes without sleeping for two days, I wrecked the Crown Vic, 70 mph, rear ended a truck, got out just fine and sold it to a guy that parted it out. Got myself my 1995 Ford Thunderbird V8. Had it ever since. I luff my T-Bird.

18 almost 19 bought my first car 1986 mercury sable(didn't have mommy and daddy to buy me one at 16)cost me $1,000 and ran good. Had it for 3 years after the first year I bought a newer truck but I kept it as my "beater"..I junked it only because an old fuck having old people problems while driving plowed into it while it was parked..The old guy was fine he made it to 80 or so.But my car was wrecked beyond all repair..

My first was a junk Yamaha 250 at 19. My first car was a '68 Beetle at 20, and I kept it at least six years. I've had good cars and bad cars since then, but none that I liked as much and gave me so little trouble.

Christ, I've been through so many cars its nuts. My first car I had to share with my older brother, and I actually never got to drive it. I was 15 or almost 15 and he was 16. He didn't even have his permit yet but decided to take the car for a spin anyway. Guess what happened. Accident!! So that was the end of that car. My first car for myself was a sweet 82 honda civic hatchback. I was 17. I loved that car!!
