    After six but before twelve.

Before six they're just doing everything that can probably hurt them and after twelve they're pushing the boundaries.

It depends on the kid really. I baby sit my niece and nephew a lot during the boys life he's been a little gentleman while his sister I have occasionally thought about crash tackling her off of something they are now 10 and 12

I've nannied for kids from two weeks to sixteen years. I probably prefer working with under 5s most, but it depends on the kids. One three year old was far worse than the fourteen year old. And the fourteen year old punched his mum...

I don't get to see my kids very often as I am in Hawaii and they are all on the mainland. While I miss them, they are easier to manage this way.

Children in their teens I think are the best time because they are at an age where their mind can be shaped. It also allows yourself to set an example for them when they become adults.

Hell no, I work with teens. Teens can be surprisingly set in their ways.

I get what you're saying - you mean in terms of being able to reason with them, the higher cognitive development, etc, and you're stating your own preference.

But technically, before seven is where the biggest difference is made in terms of education and development. I forget the exact numbers, but a significant amount of money could be saved on "clean up" for fucked up teens and adults (think prison, drug/addiction rehab, etc) if it were invested in early childhood education/intervention.

Not saying your opinion is wrong, just some info.
