I think a big factor in so many guys wanting anal is how it's so routine in porn. Some guys have watched so much porn that they believe what they've seen there is a model for what should happen when two real people have sex.

Another important factor - for both guys who are super-interested and guys who are phobic about the anal area - is how pooping was handled by their parents when they were kids. If that whole subject was treated like it was a secret, shameful, disgusting thing when they were little, then they can either have that attitude themselves, or they can find the thought of violating the taboo very exciting.

I don't agree that you're right to split all guys into two camps. I'm a guy who has always had a take it or leave it attitude towards anal. While I've really liked butts from the time I was very young (liked them a lot more than breasts, actually), I've never been all that interested in anal sex. In my twenties, I had it a couple of times out of curiosity. It felt nice enough, but the fact that I couldn't see the woman's face was a negative that outweighed the snugness and the excellent view of her ass.

If I'd ever been in a relationship with a woman who was really into it, I'm sure I would have been happy to give her what she wanted. But the biggest kick would have been what she was getting out of it, not what it was doing for me.
