Let's say you're in charge of the entire planet and overpopulation is a bigger problem than ever. What would you do to end it?

You'd only be able to do it by taking away freedoms. If that was needed then I'd make it so that you can only have one child. Not everybody wants children or has them so that would reduce the population atleast a bit.
Or I would make it so that only certain people were allowed to have children. If you have a criminal record then you can't have children, so thieves, murderers, rapists, drug abusers, and so on can't have children. Those that can have children must be evaluated on if they're capable or not.
If people have children that aren't allowed to then they are given prison time, lengthy prison time, same goes if you have more than one child except for the cases in which you are carrying another child for another person who is allowed to have children but can't due to medical issues.
Essentially you'd have to take away freedoms for any method to work for definite.
Voluntary sterilization programs. Free birth control and condoms to everyone. Actual sex education for children (none of this watered down, bullshit abstinence only crap)

Educate the women in underprivileged countries, including but not restricted to contraception: statistically it's been proved that educated women have less children
I have had a very good idea for years that does not involve killing people.
Sterilize people. Start with sex offenders and child abusers, they shouldnt have kids anyways.
Also sterilize people who previously drank or did drugs while pregnant, since they should also not have more kids.
I would then give a $5000 reward to anyone who volunteers to be sterilized. This may seem like a lot, but it will save signifant money in the long run. All the crackheads and welfare moms will want that money.
Killing people to fix overpopulation is unacceptable though.

I'd start with all the politicians, then eradicate all the racist assholes like carminepersico and suicidePOS. Soon after those miserable creatures would go the pedos, murderers, rapists and all religious fundamentalists, militant or not.
We could continue with the very wealthy, as there is no way they got there without doing so on the sweat of others.
Then we could take a breather and see where we are and how much we have improved things.

It really comes down to what's in a person's heart. I neither dislike nor support eliminating all the Abos to alleviate overpopulation. Nor is there any intent to denigrate, belittle or show malice toward the people when I use the word. It is a simple contraction of another word.

I would do anything drastic like genocide or a controlled pathogen. But if I had my way, there'd definately be birthing restrictions in this country. There'd be an IQ or intelligence/common sense test u gotta score high enough on to qualify to have a kid. U also have to demonstrate financial stability. How the hell they'd enforce it... Idk. Adopt a child. Try to get others to do the same, people are so mother fucking selfish. Have everyone take an intelligence test and a physic evaluation. Those that pass will be tested for drastic genetic imperfections. Then they will be tested, and tested, and tested again, just to be sure.
I would do whatever I could to eliminate the social stigma of being gay/lesbian, and encourage such relationships, at least in so far as removing all socio-economic sanctions against that lifestyle.

Birth rates in most developed countries are down you could limit amount of children based on ability to provide for them although it sounds a bit elitist it would help. One other issue is the elderly population has skyrocketed so you could actually put an age limit or a euthanasia system in place for those with dementia or Alzheimer's to thin that group out . I love my grandparents and would never want it to come to that this is purely hypothetical.
