I've been talking with this girl for about 9 months. We work together. She has a kid and is in school to be a nurse. She told me from the beginning she is very busy and is just looking for a physical thing. We have hung out a bunch this summer. Her kid seems to really like me. I care for them both so much. Whenever I try to bring up how I want a serious relationship she avoids the conversation. She makes excuses like school, her over protective sister that wouldn't approve of a relationship since her last one got her pregnant, or something else. Should I...

    Don't waste your time looking for a serious relationship with someone who keeps telling you they're not interested. She has already "exposed her true feelings". If you want to stay with her under her terms then stay with her, if you don't want it then don't.

    I can't really tell what that girl is thinking...you'd think if she's was worried about getting knocked up again you wouldn't have a physical relationship. Hmm.
    If you enjoy what you have now, then if she can promise that she won't see anyone else then that's as good as going out. She might not think so, but with the condition that she not be with another man, she's committing to you. (Don't tell her that though)
    You could probably go a long time with the premise of "It's just physical but don't be with anyone else." She's happy thinking she's not in a relationship, and you'd be happy having her in the palm of your hand. Then later down the road she might want something serious.
    Ifffff she doesn't agree though, then that means she might even already be sleeping with someone else. I'd dump her then. Being in that kind of situation would be no fun.

      She's not worried about getting pregnant because she had one of those2 year birth control things put in after she had her daughter. I've actually mentioned being exclusive. She doesn't give a straight answer. Instead of saying "ok I will only be with you." She says things like "I don't have time to be with others if I'm always working, at school, or with my daughter"

        Well I'd say "Just promise me. If you can't then this is going to stop. I don't want to be physical with someone who is having sex with someone else." Which is a very understandable situation. Having sex with someone who sleeps with other people poses a health risk etc.. If she can't say she's not going to sleep with other guys, then you're better off leaving. A vague answer like "I don't have time." Doesn't sound good enough to me... You should emphasize that it's still purely physical before bringing it up so you don't scare her away. Try making it sound like an agreement instead of a demand. It might also help if you make it sound like you could care less either way. If you show to much that you like her, she's going to get uncomfortable and feeling like she's committing
