You are hiding from an enemy government's soldiers. Your baby starts to cry. They will find you and kill you, twenty others, and the baby if the baby continues to cry. The only way to make it quit is to smother it. There is no other option. What would you do?

Well couldn't you get it on the tit and maybe shut it up? Is it an infant? That's what I'd do first anyway. Seems like there could be a few more options.
The question is illogical.
You cannot know what you'd do in that situation unless you are in it.
The choices are not two, but likely thousands of options.
Note, the enemy soldiers are just going to kill you? And the baby anyway? I say there's always hope.
Actually I can't help but answer correctly, well to the best of my ability.
As in this case you never know, oneday someone could be in this position (of life threatening choice) and carelessly say, oh I remember, I need to kill the infant!

hmm good question and youre saying there is no other way to quiet the child at all so
knowing that i would fuckin hate to do so but i would end the poor things life knowing that if it were to continue crying we would be found and it would suffer further sounds cruel but i would save many lives as well as my own and end future torture to the child.
Depends. If there was no alternative, I'd smother it. If I could use it as a distraction to get behind the enemy soldiers, I'd do that and kill them.
I have absolutely no idea what I would do. I think I would have to be in that situation before I knew.
