What was your worst time at the dentist?

I am asking because I recently had a bad encounter at the dentist. I had to get a tooth pulled, and despite the fact that I had laughing gas and numbing shots, it still hurt during the pulling, and afterwards as well. Plus, my dentist didn't even prescribe me any pain medication.

When she called me sweety...and I developed a flu for a week afterwards.
    Oh the morbidity!

I got four teeth removed. Although I was under anaesthetic that numbed all feeling in my jaw, I could still feel the pulling and the force of the removal and I still feel quite scarred from the experience.

I had a dentist once that did good work. But, he would put nicks in my good teeth making them hard to clean. This would lead to tooth decay so he would have more to do in the future. What an unethical flake.

He finally retired early. I was one of his favorite patients because I was relaxed and provided him with intelligent conversation. I don't think he gave drill nicks to patients that he didn't like to work on.

Possibly it was an accident, he was just clumsy?

He would put them in hard to reach places. Like just under the gum line between teeth.

When he said I needed oral gum surgery. I can't afford it, so I can't get that receding gumline on my bottom two teeth fixed anytime soon. :(

Any decent dentist will keep checking if you're feeling pain and if you are, stop and give you another numbing shot.

However, don't stop having your teeth attended to - my worst experience was when my very last natural tooth was extracted and I now have a bottom denture I can't wear comfortably because there's nothing to hold it in place. The only slightly good thing about it is that I'll never have to have another filling or extraction as long as I live, but I'd actually prefer that to false teeth.
