I like Apocalypse Now but you can hardly say it "starred" Harrison Ford. He had about one or two lines and he was only in one scene. If that qualifies him as starring than you may as well add American Graffiti to your list.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Blade Runner get my two thumbs up.

True! I thought it was weird seeing Ford making just a cameo appearance, but still that was around the time when he was the most sought after actor in Hollywood.

I thought the first two were the best actually. The last one was awful. I know that much.

The first 3 were the best, the 4th was just a come back and to sum it all up that he had a son ect..

The 4th one was made too late.

    Mosquito Coast.
    Criminally under-rated film.

What was that movie about, anyway?

A man disgusted with contemporary capitalist society attempts to start his own utopia in the South American jungle, where he relocates his family. His family revere him and follow him but obsession and bigotry and just the sheer impracticality of what he's trying to do drives him mad and his civilization crumbles.
I think its his finest role because of the way his performance captivates, even as his character grows increasingly unlikeable.

Well ironically, that sounds like something I want to do except of course become a less likable person. It sounds like my kind of film.

I agree. Ironically, Harrison Ford hated playing Han Solo and Rick Dekkard.

So did I. The real reason that movie was good was because of Tommy Lee Jones.

        more than a cameo

less than a memorable character except for what he went on to do

Ah, okay! So he starred in maybe a couple of scenes, and then you never saw him again.

That's understandable. I liked the musical score of that movie. Did you know Harrison Ford also got nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor in that role?

        I didn't!
I know Kelly McGillis lived around her and her daughter went to one of our local schools but that was a while ago.

Well that makes sense. I'm guessing Kelly McGillis later moved out to California once that movie was done? I know that was before she made Top Gun.

You know what's weird? Harrison Ford has never won an Oscar. He got nominated once for Best Actor for his role in Witness, but I think that was it.

The only good Mooovie he did was Blade Runner and I really wish they had of gotten someone else for that role.

You have to understand something about Hollywood, though. The top directors like Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Stephen Spielberg, and Ron Howard also want actors that are in the highest demand which I believe Harrison Ford was at the time.
