This is shocking news, if be true. I read you as some dude in their late 20’s at least. Not one year younger than me.

    Either 1969, or 1983...
The moon landing, a triumph of science and technology and proof that mankind's future lies among the stars.

Or the internet and it's following computer revolution.
Information available to you, everywhere, at the touch of a button. I'm leaning more towards internet, because it will be an integral part of any future mission into space and is the backbone of our modern way of life.

If this poll had included the WWII years, it's 1942... birth year of the electronic computer. So far humanity's greatest achievement.

Closely followed by the invention of the internal combustion engine.

‘68 saw the RFK & MLK assassinations, the Chicago Dem Convention, the LBJ decision not to run, the election of Nixon, and the escalation of the Vietnam war. ‘69 comes in a close second.

1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis. The world would be radically different if one was fired off.

Yeah MonteMetcalfe, but that could also apply to every year of the cold war and culminating in the fall of the USSR and the dropping of the Berlin wall as capitalism and democracy defeated communism. At least for the moment.

Im gonna say 2001 because we were attacked on home soil and security all around went from being super relaxed to being very serious. I remember going to football games and there was no security you walked right through. Now you go through metal detectors and like 20 cops. Air ports are like a military base now.

They also started recording everyones info under the patriot act. They have a list of every civilians info they can access you emails listen to your phone calls read your texts. They can even watch you through your phone camera. Some TVs have cameras they can see you through that.

USA use to be very laid back and everything was off the grid so to speak.

I don't think so. But you can't deny that the year 2020 will live in infamy for decades to come. Even more so than 2001 does.

Idk where I live by september of 2020 everything was back to normal. No one is scared of covid anymore. Most people already had it. Most people dont wear masks and everything is back to normal. The news just hypes it up but no one cares anymore.

I live in an area where the bars are constantly packed with people without masks. Why? Because no one gives a flying fuck. We chose to live out in the middle of nowhere.

Well I'm an American and I could say years that were important in U.S. history but 2020 definitely changed the world. Everyone has been impacted by the pandemic throughout almost the entire planet.

2016. The culmination of technology and social media's power. Foreign actors influencing American politics. The end of the Bush/Clinton era, the onset of Trump, the beginning of extreme identity politics.
