What was the happiest day of your life?

What was the happiest day of your life?
Mine was either the day my twin boys were born, or the day I left England and went to live with my boyfriend in Ireland - but I don't know which. They were both amazing days...on the day my kids were born, I was kind of whacked out so it went in a blur, but seeing the two beautiful things that my husband and I had created was amazing...inexplicably so. And the day I emigrated - that was so freeing and special - I don't know.

What's yours?

Love does not create divisions in society, it brings us closer together.

I can't boil it down to just one. The 5 five possible candidates include some time in September 2007, October 16th 2011, December 31st 2011, February 9th 2012 and April 22nd 2012 . None of them are for reasons likely to be of much significance to anyone with much life experience, but as I'll explain the reason behind the first two and the reasons why I won't for the others.:

    1) A time I saw a towering building from a perfect angle on a hill burst into flames against the summer sunset, and watching it spontaneously in silence for hours with a group of friends. Other people, friends and strangers, joined us to watch throughout the night to watch with us. Smoke filled the sky above us in an enormous trail, filling all the distant corners of the bronze horizon. It was OUR moment. Those hours watching it unfold led to the most beautiful and awe-inspiring landscape I've ever seen. I'm not sure to this day why it held, and still holds, such a strong and lasting significance for me.

    2) Seeing my best friend and I's favourite band play a tiny show to only two or three hundred people. Amazing night and a great bonding experience. No more explanation for this one, just a really, really fun night :)

    3) and 4) are girlfriend-related, and I don't know if they'll be memories that last forever or that burn strong for a few months then die out into nothingness. 5) was a bit like 2), but with my dad and probably even more fun. But it was only last month, so I can't pitch it fairly against the others.

That is actually a really good attitude to have. My 15 year old cousin was diagnosed with a terminal illness last year, and it's been a huge reminder of the fragility of human life. Your entire life can change drastically or even end altogether in one instant, even if you're young and think - key word, think - you have decades left. Being alive is something we should all take time to appreciate.

My first horse ride and feeding them apples :D.

Shopping at Concord Mills with my mom, aunt and cousins until my legs felt like they would fall off.

And I'm waiting for some other things to happen :).

Oh dear - isn't your husband your true love?
It definitely wasn't love at first sight with my boyfriend! It took time before I realised how much I love HIM!!! <3

Ah, love is a beautiful thing.

I met my husband when I was 19yo, he was cute and grew on me. We get on extremely well and he is very very good to me - but that was a totally different mind-blowing experience, that I've never felt before or since :o(

I don't think the other guy could be half as good to me - in fact, I don't think anyone could be.

I've been absent due to my son doing his GCSEs aka me doing his revision notes and research!!!

Aw, that's so sweet. I met John at 16yo, and from there he really cooked my biscuit!!

It's so sweet, love - especially when it's true love!

Good luck with your son's GCSEs!!

Wednesday, 25th May, 2005. Champions League Final. Winning it is something. Winning it like that is a once in a lifetime thing. Winning it like that with every friend of mine present to see it is more than a once in a lifetime. I am incredibly lucky. I'll never forget that night.

I was indeed celebrating your birthday. The football was just a nice distraction. Actually, with time differences and all that, we were probably celebrating at exactly the same moment. Although maybe not in the same way. Unless you were standing on a table singing, after wresting yourself from under the pile of bodies that had just thrown themselves off the bar at you and landed on top of you. Knowing you, though, maybe you really did celebrate that way. :P

I can honestly say that I do not know. I've never had an all powerful paradigm shift or experienced anything out of the ordinary. I've experienced moments in my life that were pleasant and amazing but nothing that is distinct from the rest.

All the time I spent with the girl who I was deeply in love with. I would later find that she didn't reciprocate my feelings and it wound up destroying our friendship, but the time that we spent together as best friends was the closest I have ever felt to any person outside of my parents and brother (I have a lot of mental health problems/social problems)

December 17th 2010, a Friday, approx. 3:20 P.M., 5th grade, going home from school on a school bus, 7th day of week, right before Christmas break:

The day I fell in love. It's the earliest memory I recall falling for him. On the bus. When he was leaning towards the front seat, screaming at me and my lil bro to wear our Santa hats. What love.. <3.

    Still in love ♥

    Hiya,

The day I put the TV on to encounter a fictional character who became a big part of my life and who I still love today.

The days we got various pets. I always said I wanted a dog who'd put his arms around me and lick my face and I got one. He's amazing and I'm still completely besotted with him.

The day I met my favourite singer properly, who has been my favourite for nearly my whole life after growing up hearing her stuff and loving it despite it being ancient –- bit embarrassing to admit in front of your mates though! If I hadn't heard her my life would have been very different (thanks dad). I nearly fell down the venue steps I was so happy. I don't care if that sounds pathetic.

        Hiya,

I don’t want to say, not because I’m embarrassed but because she may not be in a couple of years – I doubt it though. Dad and I never used to get on but we’ve got a common ground now. Glad to see there are some other people like me.

I fictionalised her and wrote a story about the concert – and now that I’ve started writing I can’t stop. I went through a phase of not writing, and starting again was the best thing I ever did.
