Well, mine wasn't by personal choice because it was kind of a street party thing. However, I liked it. The DJ played "We Are Young" by Fun and timed it so that the first chorus kicked in bang as New Year came in. Everyone was singing, one girl (who looks like an IINer I like) was screaming "Happy New Year, Manchester" and five seconds later the fireworks went off (everyone mistimes the fuses... seriously just leave it five seconds longer than you think you need, and you're set) then the DJ faded it into Auld Lang Syne (although not a version I've heard before). More fireworks, Chinese lanterns, and a cheer. It was actually pretty great.
It even stopped raining.
Damn it! I wish I knew. Argh, I can't remember. Grr, how annoying. Nope, can't remember much at all.:(
Uhm, some childhood ditty about "greasy grimy, gopher guts". My boyfriend obnoxiously burst into song while I was eating, what I previously thought was, a tasty sandwich...
Lotus by Dir en grey because we have this proverb that says How you do on New Year you do for the rest of year (it actually rhymes and makes sense in my langugae) and it's my favourite band so I'll make sure I won't leave them this year ^^
I have really got no idea. I know I was listening to punk and pop punk at 2-3 in the morning, so I would guess it was a punk or pop punk song. But I have no idea what. I should have remembered :P I would probably have chosen something with some sort of symbolic significance if I had been aware, but as it is I was just playing music to fit the mood I was in.
Hm.. I was deep into a Pathfinder game when the new year rolled around and went to sleep at 3am, before I even had the chance to listen to music.

Not to copy Simon or anything, but I am almost 100% sure I put on "We Are Young" by Fun.. My best friend and I love singing songs with harmonies and melodies, and that is one we have been working on as of lately. Second song was "Cough Syrup" by Young The Giant.
Besides the crap they were playing on the Ryan Seacrest show (sorry, I'm not putting Dick Clark's name on it) it was probably I Saw Her Standing There by Paul McCartney at the Shea Stadium concert he was at with Billy Joel.
