Im studying the effects of environmental noises on people and trying to get a general idea of what sounds people prefer and what sounds they hate. There are some choices for general background sounds, what sounds do you like the most?

I like the sound of howling wind. The sound of a furnace or a fan are also really soothing.
Thunderstorms, ocean, rock music that nobody else likes, edm, fiance playing bass (favorite).
These options are WAY too general.
Machine noises?
A mechanical digger sounds different from a computer fan, which sounds different from a printer, which sounds different from a washing machine, which sounds different from a mobile phone...
Animal noises?
Humans sound different from kookaburras, who sound different from whales, who sound different from crickets, who sound different from dogs...
Weather?
Rain, wind, hail stones, thunder...
Instrumental noises?
Violin, guitar, drums, trumpet, kazoo, bagpipes, marimba, piano...
City noises?
Cars, sirens, walking, talking, trains, planes, birds, dogs barking, music...
Basically I don't really know how anybody is supposed to pick one category out of that, when each is a huge generalisation encompassing so many different sounds - some pleasant and some pretty horrible. It really is a useless poll :/
The faint distant rumble.... Ever so slightly growing in sound and intensity till the first few droplets begin to ping off cars and roofs.

I like the sound of rain. I love the sound of waves crashing against rocks or splashing over the plain sand of the beach. I like the sound of the wind in the palm trees, the sounds of birds in the morning. The sound of a waterfall. Did i say about the sound of rain? It's so good to fall asleep to the sound of rain followed by some thunders!
I enjoy the refreshing sound of me squeezing into some tight leather gloves, a ski mask and boiler suit as I mix rohypnol into a drink and pour an ample amount of chloroform onto a rag....
Whoah I just realised how that sounded so let me explain, i work as a welder hence the boiler suit and I'm a sufferer from Polymorphic light eruption hence the ski mask and the gloves.
The roofies i get scripted from my doctor for insomnia and the chloroform is we use to clean the lab that i work at.
I like the sound of rainfall on a bald-headed man but I detest the sound of yoghurt on an afro.

I love the sound of trees soughing and leaves rolling across the ground. I also really like the sounds of crows cawing, seagulls squawking, heavy rain, thunder, distant traffic, thick ice cracking, and white noise. That's all I can think of right now.
I love sounds of nature. When I can hear an animal outside, like an owl, even crickets chirping, a bird doing a mating call, etc. I love the sound of rain or thunderstorms too. Anything that is from our beautiful mother earth is wonderful.
I really like the water lapping against the side of the boat, when I lay down to go to sleep. Occasionally though, it sounds like running water and I must get up to check if we have a leak.

I like hearing trains or planes flying over ahead at night, light rainfall, long instrumental jam seshes, the sound of my furnace kicking on in the winter, and silence even though that's not a sound.
I dislike the sound of cars driving by and alarm clocks.
I read the title again, and I see you said "most". Hmm, the sound I like most is hard to define.
But you know how a giant pendulum swinging sounds, and when it reaches it's peak there is a moment of deafening silence? That sound - sorry for my horrible explanation, but hopefully you'll understand what I mean
