Theres like 100 people total in this town. 70 of them are ninety year old assholes, 10 of them I want fight, and the remaining 20 just awkwardly stare at me when im in the grocery store. Fuck this place.

I live in a rural area.

    Benefits include:

-A large lot with plentiful yard space
    -Trees, lots of trees
-Not too many people, neighbors live far enough away to have a decent amount of privacy
-Many people are nice/friendly where I live
-My residence is very close to my college and a good city that I rather like is not too far away.

    Drawbacks include:

-Personally I live right by the highway AND the train tracks. That shit gets old...
-Not a whole lot of neighbors = fewer potential friends/acquaintances that I can relate to and hang out with.
-If you want to do something sociable, you usually have to drive somewhere, depending on what it is

That's about all I can think of right now. I'm sure I could think of more, but if I start complaining about stuff, I'm liable to never stop...

  • Lived in all of them. Currently I'm living in a farm area. It only has one good side to it; there are forests that in width and length, go on for miles. I like forests due to the area being very dim when you're in them.

Other than that, there is nothing to do and bad internet connection.

Oh yeah, how could I forget that one!

      My internet SUCKS here.

      • Gets irritating quite fast, doesn't it? I'm used to having a good connection, and I'm a fast pase person when it comes to the internet, so I'm just facepalming when it takes five minutes to load one page, then another five minutes to load its content. It definetly does suck.

          Yes it does.

For me five minutes for a web page is on a good day. It takes that long just to load a picture sometimes, and on a bad day, I've had it not even come in at all. At least this website does really good though.

I have Hughes Net Satellite internet, and I wouldn't recommend it, but it's all I could get here besides dial-up. My old internet where I used to live was with Windstream, and while I had my complaints, it was at least fast enough to play Call of Duty's online multiplayer (though it often lagged). My internet also has peak hours which are really slow and bandwidth limitations even though it's supposed to be unlimited. After loading 3 or 4 videos on youtube, it slows down dramatically. Most of the time though, I can't even watch youtube videos though, because it would literally take hours for 1 video.

          • Unlucky. It takes quite a long time to work for me, but it seems it takes longer for you.

I can't even upload a picture to Facebook due to the connection, and the Youtube video, same with me. Usually I'd click on a video, have to wait an hour for the two minute video to be able to play correctly, and then rarely it even works that way.
Hopefull my area will be getting a better form of connection, though. I heard that there is a petition goingaround for this area to get better connectio, so I hope it passes.

And I agree about the IIN thing. It doesn't work as fast as it did with my old internet connection, but it's one of the only ones that still works pretty well, despite the connection being so bad.

            • Internet connection is definitely an issue here as well, "high speed" is available to most homes but it works on a cell tower with home receivers kind of deal and it's not very reliable.
Fortunately for me, there was a doctors office just down the road and DSL came to my little neck of the woods about 12 years back.

I think it's safe to say that most of the people here live in their mom's basement.

I currently live in a suburb. Its really close to the city though so I get the best of both. I really wanna move back to the city where I was born though...maybe after college and everything I will. I have family in rural towns and while I like visiting them, I dont think I would like living in a town that small on a regular basis. I like city life the best!

  • i live in a country town which is in a valley between 2 hills, one is close by and has a marker on it which people drive up to look down at the township , the other hill is further out and very high with a lookout tower on it. if you climb the tower the town is very small and if eyes are strained the ocean can be seen as a blue line on the horizon. the town itself is very old and stately

  • Drive down my street and you reach city, drive to the end of my street, you my house, which is in front of wilderness and the woods. Way quiet, and a view of the entire valley from almost all the way around the house.
    Truly beautiful.

I live in a very closed off community, there are about 6000 people in this town and everyone knows everyone.

I live in a suburb, pretty quiet when it comes to noteable events. Would rather live in a place where you can actually see stars at night, and doesn't have hot summers.

I live in a small city (population around 220 000). Even though I like this place, I would still like to live in a larger city.

I like being able to walk around the city without anyone knowing me.

I live in a small city. A couple miles outside of the city actually. I like it here, but sometimes I wish I lived somewhere where there's more to do, like on the beach or near a lot of shopping centres.

  • I live on a farm in a very rural area, nearest community is a few minutes drive away and there's about 500-600 people there. The nearest town is about an hours drive, it has a population of about 8000.
I love it here; Lots of space, not many around to bother you, fresh air, people that are here are very friendly.
It does has some down sides; Everyone my age or even close to my age has packed up and moved away, cost of living can be expensive if you don't plan ahead and buy food in bulk.
I have lived in cities and medium sized towns, can't stand it there. Too much hustle and bustle for me.

I live in a town. I think about 250,000 citizens total. It's great. School system isn't bad, the people are friendly. I like it here. The only real downside is that it's extremely boring after a while.
