What's your male opinion on the fake nails that women wear?

As a guy I can safely say that when I am with a girl I really don't care about their fingernails so in my opinion its unnecessary and a waste of money.

I don't like them especially those long pointy ones you can get in hair stores. I think natural is always better.

I can appreciate painted nails, especially the really artistic ones, but fake nails are just weird to me, they are less appealing than simple, trimmed and healthy looking nails. They don't do anything to enhance a woman's appearance in my opinion.

Also the longer they are, the more claw like the hand looks, the less I want to hold that hand or have that hand hold me.

If you are wearing fake nails what else is fake? Is that bum even yours? is your name really Mary Quite Contrary? Are you wearing a wig? wth you're really a man oh no what have i just got myself into.

For me, there's nothing really sexy about the look or feel of nails, long or short. Long nails always make the fingers look like claws to me, and while there's something a little bit appealing about that you wouldn't want claws anywhere near your private parts o_O

With nails, and with most body parts to be honest, I think them being clean is a lot more important than the size and shape of them if you want to be attractive.

They are flammable. I found this out the hard way.

Where is the IDGAF one way or the other option? Although I could never understand how could you do the basic things such as washing dishes or even wiping your own ass.

Just grow out your own natural nails, real is always sexier. I'm no fan of plastic nails.

its okayish... i have grown my natural nails which look kind of same.... fake or real doesn't matter what matters is how they look .... whatever you do at the end you must look sophisticated ,clean and tidy.and beautiful.... whats the problem in having fake ones its all about preferences may be they feel easy that way...

I'd rather have girls take good care of their nails and fingertips, all you need is 10-20 bucks of equipment. I'm a guy, and I do it, it makes your nails look natural and clean.

I'm the opposite. As a guy in my 40s, I love them. I like a girl who likes to take care of her hands and nails. My girl bites her nails all the time and they look gross like man hands. It's a turn off. So she's nice to get them done for me all the time and she rarely bites them as much in the process. Hands are one the things I'm most attracted to physically about a woman. It's weird I know, as most would say legs, boobs, face or ass are their immediate go tos. but I love hands. And nice looking hands tell a lot about a woman to me. I think they make her hands look beautiful. She looks professional and elegant. And in the bedroom they feel amazing whether it's during her amazing slow/sensual handjobs, body massages, or during passionate sex when she's scratching or digging them into me. I love when we're just laying around she scratches my back or head too. It's just amazing and I feel even closer to her. They look natural on her too because it's nothing crazy or out of control. Ladies, they don't have to look like daggers like Rihanna or JLo or someone like that has. But just a nice tasteful length over the finger is very cute and attractive. As far as color goes, French is always nice...but a nice basic red, pink, silver, black, or beige color is great. Out there colors, jewels, and fancy nail art is really unnecessary. But I'm not against fake nails at all! Keep doing them ladies if you like because there are guys out there that notice! Looking at the comments, it looks like a lot of young guys commenting and don't like them to me? As an older guy, I like them more now then I did before.

I really wish girls would be more daring regarding length...what's the point of paying all that money for a set of nails that are just the same ol' boring 1/4 inch "cookie-cutter" nails most any girl would have? I'd love to see more girls tell the nail tech to "please keep the whole nail tip length" :) I once had a friend in high school who had them done like that (sadly she didn't keep them but for maybe a few weeks or so) and they were so incredible :)

Gel nails are more expensive than acrylic, which is what most people get. You can do them yourself and buy a kit off ebay which costs $16 so it doesn't necessarily cost $50 a month. The only part of the nail that is plastic is the tip.

when the fake nails are poorly done, grown out, or just really fake looking then its bad. Actually it looks trashy and cheap. Grow your natural nails out, get a manicure and paint them.

They are horrible! Ugh, and that sound they make when someone taps them on a table. It really makes me cringe!

Personally, I have a hand fetish and female hands are the most sexually arousing body part for me. As for my opinion on fake nails, I do not like them, especially if their appearance is not close to the natural look. The same goes for nail polish, some crazy colours or patterns can do more harm than good. But then again, I do not have a "nail fetish", as for hands, the shape, skin texture, the back of the female hands etc is what is crucial to me, not nails, but nails that look unnatural and plastic can definitely ruin the impression... Just my personal preference, nothing more.

i HATE fakenails my hands just feel so awkward when i wear them and they dont even last that long, waste of money.

Do your own jel nails ! You can get the kit at any drug store . Its MUCH cheaper . And its kinda fun to do :P and fyi if a guy doesnt like something about your apperance thats their problem.

I don't like fake nails and I think it's weird people want to wear fake ones. Like someone posted, it makes you wonder what else is fake. Also they destroy your real nails.

I think it can look pretty if properly done. Personally i wear short nails because they don't look pretty and I envy those girls with beautiful nails

As long as its not all flashy and just simple, I do not mind. My girl does hair and nails so of course her hands/feet and hair are always perfect.

If the nails are too long they could scratch your penis during a hand job.

Occasionally, people get them for functional reasons. I have trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), and I've considered getting a set of shorter fake nails. People with dermatillomania (compulsive skin picking) do it too, sometimes. The point is that the nails limit your dexterity, which means that pulling hairs out or picking skin is more difficult (particularly since I pull out hairs that are a particular texture), so you notice when you're doing it.

I think its very unhygienic!! It may look good but the bacteria incubating under those nails are disgusting !!! yikes!

I remember in my cosmetology class my teacher making us have those. We'd have to practice manicures on each other. Its a real pain in the ass though trying to write with a pen. I'm a girl and never really liked them too much.

FAKE AND GAY

I don't do it but I don't mind when girls do. It just not my thing but I do like nail polish. ^^ I'm also not a fan of painting one nail a different color than the rest. I just don't see it.

My male opinion? Depends on how they look. Long tacky ones are tacky but some of them are really nice.

French manicures (such as in the pic) are super hot in my opinion. However, overtly long ghetto claws are not hot.
