I really love metal. Yes, it is obnoxious to some, but I've gotten so used to it. It sort of helps calm me in a way. Though, it also makes me feel a bit insane.

Indie rock or Alt rock. Nothing better than the melody of natural instruments.

Alternative and rocks. I like rock since it rocks, and I like alternative since it is different and has a unique sound to it. I like hardcore and techno since I like dance music. I like the song "Devil went down to Georgia" I am not sure what that counts on but music like that is fun to listen to. I do believe it would fall under blue grass if I am correct.

I like music of a lot of different types. I don't turn my ear away from anything without giving it a chance first, and I don't really gravitate to any one genre either. It's really a case of suck it and see.

I'm a big fan of indie/alternative, I'm big into grunge too. My most favoured bands are Nirvana, The Subways, The Minutes, Sonic Youth, REM, Oasis, The Beatles, John Lennon, Jack White and The White Stripes.
I love the simplistic music, that's why I'm not a fan of something too technical such as Metal or half of today's mainstream music. I'm also a fan of calm, acoustic artists such as Glen Hansard and John Lennon. I find that technical music is just too hard to dance too, I don't understand why people like technical music. I love a good beat or something basic you can jump along to in a gig or move your body to in the bedroom!

    • I'm big into grunge, the the genre that time forgot. I love how isolated the genre is, just left in the 90's all alone and forgotten.

Alice in chains over Nirvana for me though.

      New AIC album this year.

Indie. But real indie, things like neutral milk hotel and the rural alberta advantage not what is often seen as indie now like the kooks and vampire weekend

I used to listen to Metal a lot, but I've branched out since highschool. I still love metal (although I've grown more bored with newer bands over the past couple of years) but I also really enjoy various musicians in genres like rock, punk, indie/alternative, industrial, EBM, Electronic, and various genres of instrumental music. Currently I've been almost only listening to Dark Ambient music such as Atrium Carceri. Ambient music creates a great atmosphere which I find really relaxing. Dark Ambient music is similar but generally darker and some would say to be creepy or eerie. I love the dark eerie atmosphere it creates, also great to sleep to.

Most of the music I like is either punk (e.g. Ramones, The Lillingtons, Sex Pistols...), pop punk (e.g.blink-182, Sum 41, Goldfinger, Less Than Jake... although I mostly prefer more obscure bands), metal (Metallica, Slipknot, Pantera... although I listen to a lot less metal than I used to) or any other sort of rock (alt. rock, "mainstream" rock...). I dabble in post-rock, trip-hop, EDM and rap sometimes too. There are other bands like Animals As Leaders who I don't know how I'd classify. I'm not really sure what my favourite is, but if I'm a connoisseur in anything it's pop punk and if I were to actually make music it would probably be pop punk.
