Almost 100. Not good enough!! I couldn't have gone any faster because other cars were in the way. I was like 18 at the time and it wasn't even my car. Thing was a fuckin boat. I think I was still going over 60 through the toll booth but still attempted to throw change into the thingy. I missed.
130mph on an autobahn. Scared the living daylights out of me because I though the hood would flip up thus blocking my view.
About 100mph. When I was 16 I'd take my hbrother's car and see how fast it would go on back roads. But we always ran out of road.
Borrowed a friend's BMW 7-Series some years ago. Got it up to 135mph on the motorway. It would have gone faster but I got scared because it felt like it was about to launch into flight.

I had an '85 Pontiac Fiero and the speedometer only went up to 80 or 85 however there was no peg to catch the needle so of course I had to test what it would do if you kept going faster and faster. So one night on the highway I just kept going faster and faster and the needle passed 80 and kept going and going until it came back up to the numbered area. I don't know exactly how fast I was going but it had to have been around 115 to 120. It took an embarrassingly long time to get up to that speed too but that little car kept gaining. I wonder how fast it would have gone if I kept going, but it didn't feel very safe so I slowed down. There was a cop sitting behind an overpass, I blew past him still going around 85-90 but he must have been asleep because he didn't come after me.
My brother had a late 70's Chevy 1500. It had a rebuilt somewhat high performance 350 with a Holly double pumper. Man that thing would move. The body was nearly rusted to pieces, and someone had brush painted it some horrible green color. The cops were always amazed when It left them in the dust. Anyways, we took it out on some back roads, and the speedometer went all the way around until it hit the peg. It didn't work anymore after that.
Look on youtube, they have fieros with chevy smallblock v-8's in them.

It's pretty easy to do. The V6 that they come with is essentially a V8 with the two front cylinders removed. So a V8 will bolt right up to the transmission. I believe the mounts need to be modified, I know there are kits you can get.
I know, it's awesome! It's a great car. It was always my dream to put the Caddy Northstar engine in it but I wrecked the car before I was able to do that....I'd like to get another one someday and turn it into a beast.
I had a 86 saab 900 turbo that had been purchased from a police auction. It had an aftermarket turbo and intercooler and was pretty fast. Took it a little over 130 before I got scared. Those poor cops chased me all over the place in that thing, and could never catch me. That was a while ago now, when cops didn't have to constantly look over their shoulders for cop killers.

Why? Just because you have never driven 230mph? Trust me I will NEVER drive that fast again. For me it was not such a nice experience. Maybe one day you will experience it yourself and understand.
This is not about my jealousy. This is about the realism of having any car that'll go 230, much less a street legal car on public roads.
There's very few exotics that'll top 210 you understand, even with modifications. Plus the airdrag would require 800+ hp from the most aerodynamic cars.
If you're talking quarter-milers you're making 3000 hp and turning 6 seconds or so. Good luck on the street with that automobile.

I never said you were jealous. I just find it funny that you are so eager to call things out as horeshit just because you have yet to do something.
FYI it was a 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 - NOT my car, it was my friends who lives in Dubai... in that city you can see at least 2-3 of these cars once every 2 days.
They have an autodrome there where you are allowed to drive these cars to their limit as well as some locally known roads which a few people go on.

Sounds like fun. I am eager to call bullshit because there are not too many cars out there that will go over 200, much less 230.
This is not about me and my lack of experiencing things, it is about me knowing a bit more than the average bird about cars and driving at that speed is most unusual and some folks are prone to exaggeration about these matters.
I'll take you at your word and say again that it sounds like a good thrill.
