What's the best place to donate to india covid relief?

Specifically for their medical supplies. There are so many options for websites but I don't know which are the real ones or the best ones.

If someone could let me know I'd appreciate it

Thank you

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

It's not specifically India, but Médecins Sans Frontières is a reliable organisation that does a lot of good generally, but they're also providing covid related care in India. I doubt you'll be able to specifically donate to that, but you never know.

    • Why? India has no more beds and have none of some medical supplies like oxygen...they don't even have places to put the bodies..

Keep your money in your country, the second it leaves your borders it’s slashed out among corrupters. I suggest you buy supplies for your own people struggling, instead of doing money handouts.

The truth is never sweet. If you truly wanna donate to them then really do your research because so many of those charities are scams. You'll be lucky if they receive 5% of it.

I use to work at a non profit for a few months selling tickets to ppl over the phone to concerts to fund "firefighters" and they said that 50% of it went to "firefighters". Then they started getting investigated and we had to start telling customers the truth, that only 12% goes to "firefighter safety programs". This "not for profit" was known abou by the local firefighters and police and everything. They specifically told us to pitch it to make it sound like it went directly to the fire department. But it was only firefighter safety programs. Meaning they paid someone to go talk to kids in school for alot of money. The rest of the money went to pay our salaries and the managers were making bank. This business is still operating. Anytime you get a phone call asking to buy a ticket to firefighters that's them. They have local call centers all over. They use loopholes and a way of choosing their words to make it sound like its good.

            Okay.
I come from a family who did a lot of very high quantity donating, we gave very large sums of money regularly. After a while you learn that a majority of these big name “non-profit organizations” are riddled with corruption. And I’m telling you right now your $20 donation to a multi-million dollar corporation isn’t going to do anything for people who need it.

Your best option for monetary assisting is GoFundMe or literally physically handing money to an individual.
Your best option otherwise is purchasing products that could help, blankets, toiletries, food product (if you’re local), clothing, etc.

I’ve done the big donations. I’ve had my name written on websites thanking me. And I’ve seen how my money only went into the pockets of the collectors - not the people who NEEDED it.

I don't like that being the truth but it very well may be. I think serious charity organizations would be checked on regularly and are approved for what they do, so they are mostly reliable. But I could be wrong there too. Some corruption I think is always gonna happen in anything large scale, but it could be the rare exception rather than the rule.

If its widespread then it becomes better not to "waste" money on those charities, just because you mean to help doesn't mean its what will happen. Maybe supporting national charities over international is a good idea for that reason, all countries have some problems within either way. I still get that some are worse than others overall
