What percentage of incest stories do you believe?

Two part question.

First, while I have no doubt that incest has at least crossed many people's minds (even if it's accompanied by an "ewww" reaction), many "fantasies" are presented here as if they are fact and have happened. I think a small subset of them may be true. But how many do you think are true?

Second part, do you think the prevalence of incest stories here makes you imagine incest is more "normal" and do you think this would make you even slightly more likely to consider a family member sexually?

    Honestly? I get the feeling that more of these stories are real than we tend to assume. I've read a lot about incest, not because I have those feelings, but because I find it fascinating that it's one of our last taboos. These days we're bombarded with images of killing and fucking and shitting, but incest still makes us cringe. Sociologists theorize that it's more common than we think.

    I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I honestly think that consensual incest between people over the legal age should be considered morally acceptable (except for parent-child). Why wouldn't it be? I've never heard an argument other than "ew, gross". That's not a good argument.

      ah, but why even stop at parent/child? IF they are both consenting adults...*shrug*

      Of course, compulsory contraception in those cases may again cause debate -_-

      other than that, i agree. Aside, i'm going to borrow that "ew, gross" sentence for our discussion about animal sex ^_^

        I included that exception because I foresee problems with parent/child power imbalances. I think it could be far too easy for a parent to manipulate such a situation to their own advantage, and I don't like the idea of that. Older siblings and uncles may also have similar power imbalance, but not nearly to the extent of a parent, I don't think. Then again, that's just my opinion.

        Also you should notice that I did actually use that "ew gross" statement when I warned you that I'm NOT the type to use that argument. It's just not a valid argument at all.

          yep, i know, i referred to the "ew, gross" not being a valid argument, which seems to be the "point of argumentation" for many people in the other thread. thankfully, not you, but as i'm defending the unpopular opinion there, still it serves to deflect quite a lot of flak :)

            Yeah, it's very rare that rational discussions about these things get properly discussed because there's always such a visceral reaction to it. I honestly think if we could set aside that "ew gross" mentality, society would be a more rational place.

      What's wrong with fucking and shitting? People do that all the time. Incest, yes, to a lesser extent. But killing? That really isn't normal at all.

        You misunderstood my point. We are so used to seeing images of death, sex, drugs, and all sorts of things that were taboo or "gross" not long ago. Considering that, it's interesting to me that incest is among the things that still make people incredibly uncomfortable.

        While I get flutterhigh's point about 'ew gross' not being a valid reason...it just does not sit right with me. I guess I find it nearly impossible to believe that such a 'relationship' could arise without there being some form of abuse in the picture, be it actual rape or coersion that brings about the situation, or a past of abuse that brings to a point where relatives feel that sexual relations are ok.

        Though the more this moves to the outer edges of the family, the less I disagree with it. Immediate family/grandparents/grandchildren - not ok. Cousins/aunts/uncles, grey area. Others, there is enough seperation that while it would not appeal to me personally, I would do my best not to judge others who engaged in it.

          Yeah, I can understand that. Though my issue wouldn't be with how close the relatives were to the generation they were from. For example, I would consider siblings or cousins to be better than parents or aunt/uncles etc. in almost all situations.

    A very little.. most of them sound like trolling/fake, but once in a while you come across a post seems legit.

    Something else bothers me! Appartely IIN community seems to find it "normal" to fuck pets. it's an impression I got after a few beastiality related posts here. WTF, seriously?

    Some I do believe. Others I don't. The majority of stories here involving incest, bestiality, and whatnot are fake. I would only believe about 10%.

    It really messes things up, though. Let's say a new person comes to IIN with REAL incest and bestiality problems and seeks for help, people wouldn't even help him/her because they'd think he's a troll or lying.

    I answered 10% only because I believe the number is greater than 0%. I'd put the number somewhere around 1%. While I do believe incest is far more common than many people would like to admit, I doubt that many of the people who are actually involved in these relationships actually WRITE about them. I expect that almost all stories are written by those who are putting their fantasies into words.

    I know that if I was fucking my mom, sister or daughter... I wouldn't want a "paper trail" of it to appear in court. :)
