What people don't get about schediaphiles(love of animated characters)

I've seen a lot of schediaphilic posts on here and the comments are always "they're not real so you can't love them"

Do you realize that not everyone's the same as you, and we love them specifically because they aren't real, and fiction is more alluring than reality? Not everyone wants to touch people and get intimate, or feel a reciprocal need for that.

Same goes for shotacon and the like. Doesn't necessarily make someone a pedo, usually they only like fictional kids, and don't want to touch or get intimate with anyone in real life. It's just too much and actually feels disgusting, child or not.

    Not all people. I absolutely get it.

    The primitive logic à la: "You can't have sex with it and have a family with it, therefore it is unhealthy. You are missing out on so much, because I know exactly what other people feel and desire!" does not impress me very much.

    I think the important this is that you might be touching on a real psychological issue that shouldn't be masked by getting infatuated with characters. Not to say you're any different from anyone masking their real issues but it's the exact reason why I think people like you need help.

    You shouldn't find getting intimate with people disgusting.

      Then how come some people find it disgusting to be intimate with the same sex or opposite sex and it acceptable? Same principle..Just with everyone instead of 1 sex

        You can't really equate liking cartoons to being homosexual because it's unprecedented. I've heard of asexuality but you still fantasize or have romantic inclinations about people, even if they're fiction. To me that doesn't sound like asexuality but something else. I won't even begin to ask why it has to be cartoon children.

          it doesn't have to be children at all, in fact there is only 1 I can think of, and I didn't say just homosexual I said straight people are disgusted by the same sex too
