      Yeah true , but guys want a girl that is in their league when it comes to looks. And then they search for a good personality. Coz a personality takes u 3 months to understand fully. But looks is instant. So ye we are going to go for looks first. :) . Its normal

          Agreed, Guys and girls who are extremely lacking in the appearance area will always want a handsom/beautiful partner but if they realise their limits to what type of partner they can get they will settle for someone they can get so they can atleast have some sort of love life and a life that isnt spent alone. Appearance is the biggest thing in this world.

              You dont have to believe it but if you want your proof just look outside. I am yet to see an ugly nice person with a hot person. Not everyone agrees that its right even I dont but that doesnt mean it isnt true.

      thats not true though, i dont want to brag but fuck it, this is the internet so i dont care...ive done a little modelling (including in the adult industry :S) and tonnes of guys i know want to fuck me because i can hear them say it but ive never had a boyfriend and im a virgin because im shy and sort of awkward...so personality does matter

        Now, that's funny! Just be careful about who you eventually meet. Men tend to want to do every attractive girl in the world while women tend to want one really good man to help with the children.

        My wife used to ask me questions and then listen to my BS very attentively, as though I really knew what I was talking about. That caused me to think she had a really great personality and so, that coupled with the fact that she really was sexy looking to me resulted in my proposing to her. Ha! Ha!

        The really ridiculous thing is that now I have to listen to her talk about every detail of what happened in her day from the time she left the house that morning to the time she arrived back home.

    Confidence can borderline to cockiness.
    Appearances will fade, a personality is for the long run. In my opinion it's better to date people you are more attracted to but when it's actually time to settle down it'd be wise for a person to start looking for qualities that they really want in their future spouse, no matter what they look like.

    Beauty, maybe the first thing you see. But what if she is controlling, clingy, doesn't let you do anything after 2 weeks.
    Someone with a beautiful smile, who has a bubbly personality. She may not be the hottest, but she has an awesome personality, and you can trust her. That's coming from a woman's view.

      That's a very good point.

      I've been on male-dominated websites where one guy will post a picture of a female they think is hot... and others will disagree.

      One good example is, recently they posted a picture of Kari Byron from mythbusters. a lot of the men posted drooling smiley faces, while others said, "butter face" (as is "she's ok, but her face..."

      So clearly what one guy likes another will say is ugly.

    Personality and appearance are both important, but the thing that sets a girl off as sexy is always intelligence for me.

    I don't mean the obvious exhibits of intelligence by discussing the fine points of String Theory, or Existentialism. I refer more to her perceptions which subtly reveal that she fully understands the fine points, and the kind of observations she makes that show her to be original in her thinking and well informed.

    But most of all, is her sense of humor for I have observed that intelligent people almost invariably have a keen sense of humor.

    Appearance was too vague.... But I can fall quickly for a woman who I love the way she thinks!

    Although I do have a preferred appearance for women, I don't put total stock in it, since some women just don't look their best with black hair and/or pale skin. And (sadly) not a large portion of American women are athletes. (I like strong, but not to the point of bodybuilder.)
