Possibly black and white-logic, because that's what happens most.

I was arguing with a girl who was stating "facts" that I had never heard of before so I asked her for her sources. When she returned to me, she copied and pasted something from a site that supported my argument. O_o What do you call that because I'm not even one who likes to argue but, I have got to say, that that is about the stupidest thing anyone can ever do in a debate.

    • Well I do not think that is a fallacy. Perhaps she just did not read all of the material or did not read it correctly. That or she misunderstood your point and believed you were against her but was agreeing with you.

Her argument was that white people came from albinos who were kicked out of tribes of Africans with darker skin, so they banned together to hate black people and that this hate still exists today. Her claim was that that is why there is racism.

Truth is, other races came along as hair and skin changed to adapt to climate. The article she sent me said exactly that. The only thing I can think is that she didn't read the article at all and she believed so strongly in her argument that she figured she didn't need to take the time to read it; that it would already support her claim.

I don't think it's a fallacy either, but it certainly was ignorant of her.
