I myself play a left handed strat, and every time people on my dorm floor walk by me playing, they always give me dirty looks or shake their head. It doesn't matter if i'm playing something they like or not, they still shame me. I don't really understand it. Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's 'cause you're playing left-handed? Are you sure it's not because you're playing too loud or something? They're still being kinda rude, but I've never heard of anyone having that attitude just because someone has a left-handed musician.
Yeah, I doubt if they care if you play left or right handed as long as it doesn't sound annoying. Are you playing in your robe, with your junk hanging out? Maybe that's what they're making faces about.
There is a really bad smell emanating from your room. Or maybe you need to put a t-shirt and trousers on. It's something like that, it doesn't have anything to do with your guitar playing hand.
lets see: you are Lhanded and use the Strat flipped? Well, besides the Jimi Hendrix example you have some advantages. First, the first 3 strings (1-2-3) are nearer the nut than in the "normal" Strat, that improves sustain, a characteristic not very common on normal Strats (but present in Gibson Les Paul)
I'm left handed too, I do everything from writing to masturbating with ol' lefty.
Oh wait back to your story.. This is like saying a south paw can't box as good as an orthodox. It's all about natural talent coupled with practice.
just as talented as right handed musicians. i'd probably give them the finger if they looked at me like that.. Don't mind them keep playing.
About the same as right handed ones. If you have even the tiniest bit of the talent one left handed guitar player had, you have a wonderful future in front of you. You may have heard of him, he was a black fellow from Seattle named Hendrix. Lots of hair and dressed like a hippie.
