What is your favorite type of cuisine?

What's your favorite to cook and eat? What international styles do you usually add to your cooking? What part of the country serves the best dishes (south u.s. - eggs and grits vs. North u.s.- conies?)? What do you want to try more of? What is your best dish or the best you've ever tried?

I love them all and cooked with a few different international touches, but I seem to gravitate toward French-type cuisine when cooking (eggs and stuff). I love cooking new things and I'll try to cook just about anything, although I'm still very much an amateur. Unfortunately I don't get to eat out much so I haven't really gotten a bomb dish from any international restaurants. An Italian restaurant did cater a college lecture once and they served a goat cheese I'll never forget.

I like the richness in French cuisine, the creams, fats and butter, ya know, but I Americanize it. Most of what I cook is in this style.

My favorite to eat out is a tie between authentic Mexican and Chinese. Street tacos made from mystery meat are wonderful. My fave Chinese is sticky rice. I'd kill for sticky rice, haven't had one in over a decade!

they don't have any good authentic Chinese food out your way? that's a shame. I'm near a college that has a lot of international students and have a few good Chinese places

No...just American Chinese around here, I haven't explored Lexington or Louisville at all really so there could be something there but what I crave was made in NYC and very authentic so I don't have high hopes for finding anything that measures up nearby. I have never actually found a place that makes sticky rice at all outside of NYC and similar cities.

I mostly cook Asian stuff. Stirfry, sushi, rice paper rolls, satay, etc. Sometimes Indian. Some Italian. Been doing a few more Mexican style things lately. I want to learn how to make injeera and tibs (Ethiopian).

Indian and Thai, the hotter the better.

I'm curious as to what you categorize as African American and how you do so without being labelled a racist.

    • Fried chicken of course! Nah, I mean soul food. Greens, cornbread, chitterlings and fried chicken too. It's closely related to southern cuisine and has Mexican, native American, and African influences. Shit, I forgot Indian food! And I didn't escape being called racist because you just did.

I didn't say you were a racist, it just seemed you were painting yourself into a bit of a corner.

Myself, I never touch bird, they used to be dinosaurs, I don't eat such majestic creatures as dinosaurs.
