Wait a minute - was the Jeffrey part a joke? I thought Dahmer was a German last name, but it could be Danish too. My brother's name is Jeffrey; we're from America and have a Dutch last name.

I'm guessing Madja is pronounced like "Madya?" Pretty name.

I would suspect it's pronounced that. The J in most Germanic languages including mine is like the English Y.

      Much like my name "Johan"

I don't know how to pronounce any of those, but Janeke looks pretty cute.

    • It's somewhere between Anneka and Yannicka, but more towards the Yannika end.

I'm Danish and I have never heard of a Danish female called Jeffrey?

I know I would pick on a girl with that name when I was in 5th grade.

By the way there are so many better names in Danish.

Your husband is called Jens so maybe the female version of that name "Jensine" would be great. That is and old danish name and these days its quite rare and unique.

    • Thank you. I love the name too. It's quite rare in my native Denmark but I hope more people vote Jeffrey so I can persuade my husband that it is a good name.

        • I have always liked it. My husband, Jens Dahmer, does not agree for Jeffrey as a daughter's name, though.

Name her Jeffrey Dahmer and train her to kill people you don't like... or better yet, people I don't like!

Jeffrey is pretty. You are doing your unborn child a disservice if you don't name her Jeffrey.

And Doghule, pronounced Dog Hole? I think it's a very cute name for a little Danish girl.

    Dana?

Probably not Danish, but Dana (pronounced Daynar) is a girls name and closest name I can think of to match Danish.
Either that or Murgatroyd, since Murgatroyd sounds ridiculous for a girl's name she'll obviously be unique.

You know many people like made up new names, some common names like Star; Lily; Krystal etc may have started this way.
ie, you could call her "smuk" (Danish for beautiful) !
