I'm sure the SNP ultimate goal is for independance but I don't think they will do it during this term for the following reasons.
They just had a referendum not too long ago. Now this will involve millions of pounds being spent again.
Falling oil prices, the SNP main argument from the last referendum was that the Scottish economy could be sustained from the North Sea oil revenue.
The currency issue. The rest of the United Kingdom during the last referendum refused to allow Scotland to continue using the pound. Most Scots are against Scotland adopting the Euro and wanted keep the pound.
The United Kingdom economy though still delicate - has recovered better and expecting GDP growth of 3%.
I didn't know that Scotland had it's own military. I think you'll have to ask the general how he's feeling, yourself, cause I don't know him.
