  • I'm 27 and he's 42 (never married, no kids). Best love story ever.

When I was 17-18 I considered dating a teacher who was ~15 years older, if that were plausible. I probably would have, but now that I'm 25 I can't really see myself dating a 40 yr old...but who knows. I prefer to date guys at least a couple years older and haven't been attracted to anyone younger than me since I was like 10.

4 years,I can't help it,I'm 21 and I find younger girls attractive.I don't creep on them ever,I just give them a look and if there's no response I move on with life,I don't say partner though,I'm too psychotic to be tied down.

It's not your fault. You have a beast-mode mentality.

It depends a lot on the age of the youngest partner. Remember that the brain develops till about 25 years old. Before that they are affectively not fully mature and you might get a parent-child relation where the elder one raises the youngest one. This is not a good relationship to have sex in because it's practically incest. And it might arrest the development of the younger one because she/he adapts too much to the elder one.
After 25 age gaps are not so influential anymore if both partners are fully matured.

I'd want a younger partner. And my partner would be no more than 8 years younger.

It depends on the ages! If he is 40 and she is 22, there is a big communication gap.

If he is 40 and she is 35, there is no problem.

But if he is 30 and she is 22, there is a communication gap.

Basically if she is under 28 and he is over 35, there is a problem.

The same goes for reversed gender.

Is she still breathing? I need it bad.
I'd even settle for is she still warm.

+/- 4 years. Ideally, one year older.

When I was 20 I had a relationship with a woman 16 years older than me. I've also had a relationship with someone 17 years younger than me. I had a FWB situation with someone 19 years younger.

So age difference is not such a big deal to me. It all depends on the connection between the people involved.

I'd go down to 4 years younger than me and up to 7 years older than me. I'd prefer closer to my age, though. Between 1 year younger and 3 years older. Luckily, I have someone 2 years older.

Probably around 8-10 years. Any thing much past that and I feel like there is too big of a generational gap.

8 years, but only if they're older. I wouldn't date someone much younger than me.
In rare cases, I have considered dating people 15 years older

I prefer older, though I'm a little iffy about the age thing. I try not to take it into account all together.

Up - no real limit, at least if we are measuring age in years. Down - 9 years. Otherwise they'd be children and that is not okay.

Second question: I'd prefer older to younger.

2 years younger than me is my limit.

I don't think I would go out with someone more than a couple of years younger than me. My partner is 25 years older than me, so I guess I've allowed a pretty big gap.
