What is normal for your friends?

If we've had certain friends for a good while, we start to pick up what's normal and what's not when it comes to their attitude and how they act. So what would be out of the norm for your best friend?

I have a few best friends. All three are absolutely different.

Awe... I understand that, people change.

I had this friend I met at work my Jr year in high school and then this summer I “really" started realizing how rude and depressing she really was. Our friendship slowly got worse as I got older. Now its my 4th year at college, I hardly ever talk to her now. If I do talk to her all she talks about is herself, doesn't bother to listen to me. I'm more out-going now than I was in high school, I'm more open and have more to talk about too.

But I'm sure you'll find some new friends, you just have to get out there and trust your instincts. Thats if your not already out there though. :) You seem like a pretty decent guy from your comments and profile.

But my friends are all different and unique in their own ways. I love them for that, so I can't really pick from the choices up there.

Yeah, sadly not always for the better sometimes... I have known this person since elementary school. He was always that happy-go-lucky type of kid that you could always count on to give you a good laugh. Very dependable, just an all around genuine person if you know what I mean.

Lately though, things are different. He has been smoking weed for some time now and I believe he's letting it take control and that's all he cares about now. The last time I spoke to him (it's rare to get a hold of him as he usually doesn't even answer the phone) I asked if he wanted to hang out for new years and he said yeah but he ended up not even calling. I think he may be dissociating himself from me. I feel pretty sad about it. I want to help and be there for him like a good friend should, but there's really nothing I can do. I think I might have to let him go and try to find some new friends like you said.

Thanks for the compliment too. I know I need to work on my social skills some, as I'm quite introverted actually, and I really don't have any (what I consider) "friends" in the outside world right now. Maybe a few acquaintances though. I do get along with most people though, and I think most people would consider me a likable type of person. So I try not to get too down about things if I can help it.

Anyway, if you're not completely bored to sleep by now and you made it to the end, then thank you for reading. I feel a little better now after saying all of that.

I had no problem reading what you had to say. :)

But it is for the best to just back away from your friend since it seems like he's become a little more thoughtless in your guys friendship. Maybe in the future he'll realize that he had lost a good friend and comeback for you.

And you are welcome for the compliment. I admit it myself I can be rather anti-social but once I get back on my own two feet and get back out there I realize life isn't too rough and it's rather easy making new friends and that I shouldn't think less on myself. Just be yourself, everybody is different in their own way.

Randomness, weird ideas, fighting over swings at parks (and no, I'm not kidding), boredness, ...Usually my really really good friends would never be rude to me, they're all really very polite! Except for the fact, "Bombs away!!!!" and then my friend farts real loud :P Okay..Well maybe I did laugh with them hard after that one...But you get the idea I think.

My friends consist of totally random, non conformist, unconventional odd balls of people.

I have no hard-and-fast best friend. I may have 2 or 3 candidates, but I wouldn't want to distinguish between them.

Mostly we are all quite quiet around people other than each other. I guess that would make loudness abnormal.

i adapt to any of these. I can be loud or quiet, doesn't matter to me really.

My best friend is a sweet, chatty, easygoing gal. I'd think something was wrong if she was outright rude to someone for no reason. It's just not her style.

  • I only have one person I consider a friend. I moved away, so I don't see him anymore. We were usually a mix of all of these things.

I can't imagine my best friend being out right rude to someone

The people I know are generally talkative, so I guess being quiet would be out of their norm.

    Depends on the person.
