What is happiness to you?

Personally I can’t remember the last time I felt ‘happy’ but I don’t know if that’s just because my bar for happiness is too high. It’s not like I’m miserable or anything, I still feel good things. Eating good food, spending time with family, working on projects - these all make me feel good but I wouldn’t say they make me feel happy. Content or satisfied are better words for it. When I think of happiness I think of major life events, like getting married and the like. So, what’s the bar of happiness for you guys? Do small things make you happy or is it harder for you to feel ‘true happiness’?

You are a dog groomer? How does it pay? Not being a critic on job choices, just testing job satisfaction vs pay rate cause I have not found any idea of a dream job.

Im just the bather but I've done nails on a few and shaved a few. Depending on the dogs size and whats getting done it could cost a little over $100. Just a bath and nails is $35. We get mostly small to medium dogs and they average about $45 to $75 and we usually do about 8 per day, sometimes up to 12 or 13 but my boss is 70 now so we try to keep the numbers reasonable. She is willing to teach me but I'd have to buy my own equipment and its pretty expensive.

The happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life was finding out my fiancée was pregnant

I swear during those weeks everything would glow. I could write cleaner, everything tasted 30x better, I accomplished all of my daily goals and I was entirely pleased with what I got done. It was cloud nine all day every day. That level of happiness just makes everything fall into place, I was so confident that I was exactly where I should be, doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing.

We ended up losing the pregnancy. But I’m hopeful that I’ll get to feel that good again, just waiting for it to come back around. Till then, I’m relying on my optimism to help me find happiness throughout the days

Dont know why someone downvoted you, asshole move by the dregs here.

Unfortunately it seems I wont get that kind of satisfaction of running on a pregnacy high of major accomplishment. Just maybe a high of filling out adoption papers to suddenly having a kid in my life.

Though good on you for your optimism! It must be hard but you can always try again! Unless eventually you cant but there always adoption if that avinue closes.

I've lost 2 seperate long term relationships because my partner was unable to see a long term relationship with me do to my sterility. Hoping to make something stick with someone, maybe with a woman that has infertility issues.

So Kholat, that was an excellent piece of English prose. Most native English speakers cannot write that well. Russian language schools must be better than I thought.

Personally when I think of happiness it is the kinds of people who I surround with usually when I am spending my time with my friends. Cheering up is another factor. Without any friends to support you to get to happinessville what could happen is that we would all feel low, happiness also means being able to go through life in a much easier way.

When I find it harder to feel happiness I try and find solutions and maybe ask myself why am I not feeling like this, I would try to vent to someone about it to make myself become happy.

Happiness is how we are satisfied.

If you are referring to small things that can make me happy is when I talk to my friends in real life, talking to them in real life can be redeeming.

What the bar of happiness means is obvs that when you are feeling that happy, what that means is the essence and the feeling of it no longer gives you the bar of sadness

As an autistic (which means have very intense interests), being able to pursue my interests by having endless time for research or engaging in other activities related to my fixation like simply thinking about my special interest, collecting merchandise and saving fan art, and getting to share my accumulated knowledge on subjects with people who are also just as passionate as I am and happy to learn and tell me about their interests. My special interests are the most important things in the world to me.

happiness for me is when i feel completely free to be myself around a person i trust. Sometimes when i don’t feel as happy as i used to, i force myself to over romanticize and be grateful for EVERYTHING even little things in life. It sometimes helps me.

Getting married? It's not a guarantee of happiness, and I think your 'bar' of happiness is misplaced. Wait for the COVID-19 pandemic to be eased out and then find yourself a new bar.

Happiness to me is completing a design project to the satisfaction of a client.

Being content. Knowing when I wake up that today will be a success and when I sleep that I've accomplished everything or most of what I planned to.
