What is an appropriate level of contact between siblings?

Since this is IIN's favorite subject. How should opposite gender siblings act when greeting or saying goodbye to each other?

No touching between them at all. 7
A quick hug that's barely touching. 23
A close hug. 68
A peck on the cheek or forehead. 65
A quick kiss on the lips. 20
A makeout session. 39

There is nothing wrong with giving your sister a hug and a kiss. People know what inappropriate touching is. It is wrong to see one of your siblings in any sexual manner. Do people really have problems with this subject? My sisters and I are close, but there is no sexual tendencies toward each other at all. We always hug and kiss. There is nothing wrong with affection as long as it is the right kind. If you have more feelings than that for a sibling, then you need lots of therapy.

What about other inappropriate stuff like family activities ?I dated a guy who used to go to strip clubs with his dad and his brother and they were constantly talking about their penines. He sent me a picture once of him in his boxers with a banana in his crotch as a joke.. When I asked him who took the picture he said "my dad" ?? ... Um why ?

My sister is 2 years older than myself, ever since we were teens we just did a 'bro' shake and I plan to carry on doing this until we are both 70+

Things like hugging. Kissing on the lips is ok if one or both siblings are quite young. When your older though it would seem odd. Personally, I have no problem if people to kiss their sibling on the lips when older, but I wouldnt.

You know how many women have had another man's child and pretended it was her husbands and how many men have had one night stands and didn't even know they had a kid and then had one night stands other places. Thinking about it now I wonder how many of us have had some level of incest from lust to sex without even knowing it. Sad but funny too. Perhaps people should be more involved with someone before they sleep together maybe have a commitment and know each other.

my family was cold too. I remember when I was in 7th grade, my best friend hugged another friend of ours, because it was the last day of school and I realized that I didn't know how to hug people. sad

I've never hugged my brothers, so any physical contact would be uncomfortable for us-I am greatly uncomfortable even hugging my parents-it's just something that didn't happen in our family (amazing none of us grew up to be psycho killers!). Growing up, my family was very cold as far as showing or even talking about any kind of affection. I do the opposite now that I have my own kids and family, we are very, very close and affectionate and I think it's great. Hugs and kisses all the time!! It's personal, it really depends on how close you are, how you grew up and your culture.

Depends on the country you're from. Different customs for different cultures. What's appropriate in one is rude in another.

I would say making out with siblings is universally considered inappropriate though.
